YAY!! I finally did my Album Layout!! (UPDATE)

Almost 8 1/2 months later and we finally did our album layout!! Only took us three hours and we only went $200 over in extras!

Now we only have 9 months till we get to review it I can't believe its going to take so long!!!

UPDATE!:

So we had a 2:00 Sat appt which we made forever ago!!! We get there and the woman whos supposed to work with us is with another couple who were making their daughters bat-mitzvah album. they tell us that someone else will start off the parent albums and then Kathy would be with us! Well Kathy never came to us (and mind u I went to the appt sick as not to miss it) and while who we had was FANTASTIC (super sweet and very helpful), she never did an album layout before. Shes reviewed them afterwards but never created one. She didn't know that there was no extra charge for more than one pic on a page, so at the very end we made 2 pages have more than one pic and the rest only have one. I left feeling happy but that night I just couldn;t sleep, feeling like more should've been done, blah blah blah. In the middle of the night, I also realized I went home with a proof of a pic that belongs in the parent albums So i called today and now i am going to go back for another appt to make sure everything is perfect!! I mean we paid A LOT of money and we should have the best possible album for what we paid! So waiting for a call on Wed to do it all over agian!! I just don't wanna hurt anyones feelings! Would u have done the same thing??? I'm also kinda pissed they double booked my freakin appt that I made a while ago!!!

Marie - don't worry about hurting anyone's feelings! i know what *************'s cost and you ABSOLUTELY should feel 200% satisfied! what's the point of great photos if the album is gonna be bleh?? u're doing the right thing & i would do the EXACT SAME THING. I'm sure the girl who helped u will not be hurt being that she KNOWS shes never created a layout! even if u DIDN'T pay a ton of mula (which u did!) u'd still deserve to sit down & go over everything! U'll feel so much better after u get another chance to meet with them & that's how it should be

Marie - don't worry about hurting anyone's feelings! i know what *************'s cost and you ABSOLUTELY should feel 200% satisfied! what's the point of great photos if the album is gonna be bleh?? u're doing the right thing & i would do the EXACT SAME THING. Thanks Taryn- I feel better now! The woman who helped us wwas FANTASTIC and had she know we could do more than one pic a pg, I'm sure we'd be fine BUT she didn't and I just don't want it to look silly! I know certain pics should be grouped together!

Marie, you have every right to go back and make sure it's all done correctly. and that stinks that they double booked you. You should get exactly what you have paid for and really, don't worry about hurt feelings. You are paying for a service and deserve to have things exactly as they are supposed to be! Hope your next appt goes better than this one!

Marie, def speak up. You're being charged ALOT of money and its not growing on trees or i would be changing careers to farmer/harvester Definetly voice your concerns politely but firmly. You're the client.

Thanks girls!! I'm def gonna voice all my concerns, especially since they're pissing me off!! When we booked, we were told that they can airbrush this, and take away that- never mentioning the huge fee!! Well I had asked for the ground lighting to be taken out of my enlargements (especially my 16x20) and the women told me it'd be VERY expensive! She came back with a quote of at least $50. Well lil ole me watched a one minute tutorial on youtube last night and guess you had her ground lighting out of her pic in a matter of minutes- ME!!!! There is NO way they should be charging me for that!! I declined to have it done last time but I am insisting they do it and for FREE when I go back! THATS INSANE!!! And if I don;t get what I want then all hell is gonna break loose!! WHHHOOOOO- Vent over!

To be fair, yes it might eb an easy thing to do BUT those things are always extra. Did you look through your contract? Soemthing as simple as the bouquets in color and rest of pic in b&w is generally $50-$75 and major changes like takign dirt out of the hem of a gown can be $100+. So unless its specified in the contract they do it for free, they prob won't.

LOL well I will say that alot of stuff thats 'easy' is much harder when you have to make sure it looks good in a hig res format. Liek i can do something to print ina 4x6 that 'looks perfect' but could be a little less than perfect in reality. but if I am going to blow it up in an enlargement, it has to be ON POINT-no room for error so thats another reason some of that work can be pricey. Doesn't hurtto ask though.

and dont worry, everything will work out just fine. the layout artists are soooo good about making it EXACTLY how you want it. DONT feel bad, youre not hurting anyone, it's their job!
