I made the most DELICIOUS pulled pork today in my slow cooker!
I made a yummy chicken stew last week in it too! I love being domestic all of a sudden...who am I??????????
Soooooooo what is your fave shower gift and why?
Mine is clearly my slow cooker because it kicks out yummy food with minimal work.
Second fave is the dustbuster, with a close third being my rice cooker!

Re: Your Fave Shower Gift, and whyyyyyyyy?
Besides the many amazing gifts from my mom (like my Italian bride and groom ornaments), there are three that were extra special because the thought put into them.
1) I got a bread loaf pan, but what made it my favorite was it was from my friend Michelle and came with the recipe to her banana bread. When I lived in DC she made it for me all the time and now whenever I go visit her she makes it for me. So it was super special.
2) I got these beautiful bride and groom flutes from my mom's friend Cindy. I saw them in a store down in Florida when we were out shopping over 2 years ago and loved them. Cindy went back and bought them the next day and kept them until my wedding.
3) I got a basket of Christmas fun. It was all the stuff needed to throw an amazing Christmas party with plates and martini glasses. My friend knew I loved to host and that I loved Christmas so she spent so much time gathering up these things. My shower was in June so it meant a lot to me to know that she put all that time in to thinking of my gift months in advance.

Martha Steward Blue Coral Bedsheet set VS Lingerie set and Plush Dog with signatures and Bride to Be Crown. The bedsheets were gorgeous. Love the color & print! The lingerie set was sexy and fun. And the plush doll with crown was a memento of the day and really sentimental.

Dh would say our Kuerig (we both get a lot of use out of it even though I don't drink coffee). I would say either my knives, which will cut through everything, including the acrylic on my nails or my dyson, which is the most awesome vacuum ever. Oh and I need to throw our sheets in there. They are 350 thread count from BBB and the most comfortable thing I have ever slept on.

which one are you using? Gloria Jeans Hot Cocoa is pretty good. (Though I like their Mudslide and French Vanilla Coffee.) If you haven't had it there is a Gloria Jeans store at the South Shore Mall. They sell tons of K-Cups.
Whenever I am sick I use the English Breakfast Tea K-Cups. I just ordered a bunch with cold and flu season coming on.

The cake tray that lights up so everyone gets the same size slice of cake and plays Happy Birthday...love it!
DH loves the indoor grill thing.

Re: Your Fave Shower Gift, and whyyyyyyyy?
I have several:
(1) Mini photo album set - my FG gave this to me - it has 3 albums - 1 for shower pics, 1 for wedding day pics & 1 for HM pics - I love them!
(2) My China - I got some as shower gifts & some as wedding present - but to me growing up it always meant something if you were a couple who had 'good china' to put out for special occasions, holidays, etc. It got 8 place settings out the 12 I asked for & sugar & creamer & hostess tray so I was super thrilled!
(3) My good silverware & silverware chest - this was from my mom & it meant so much b/c she bought us our service for 12 just like her mom did when she got married.
(4) Cutco scissors & knife set...what I did before w/out these I have no idea

If you haven't tried their iced tea k-cups, I recommend those too. We got the lemon and raspberry.

You just put a cup with ice under the spout. All the ice usually melts and I add a bit more. You can do iced coffee the same way. They sell the iced tea k-cups on the kuerig website. Our machine has the iced setting on it, but you don't really need that and I don't use it (I think it just brews stronger).
