1) Who asked who out first? 2) Where'd you guys go?
1) He did...DH and I used to work together. I had just moved back to the NY area and at the work function we started chatting and I mentioned I didn't know too many people so he asked me to hang out after work one night with other coworkers. Then when we hung out a few nights later, he wasn't really hitting on me but I had a feeling he was going to ask me out. I was about to head home & he said 'We should hang out'...which I think was a hilarious way to ask me out, it wasn't even in the form of a question, he basically told me. But I wanted to so I said sure and then we made plans for the week later.
2) We went to Mamma Lombardi's and then a movie at Island 16 (that James Bond movie with Halle Berry).

Re: Your First Date
Hmm he asked me but we were talking for almost 3 weeks every night on the phone after emails for over a week or so. He asked, I said yes, then broke dates 2 or 3 times lol because we were both talking to other people at the time (we met on match, com) and I really liked him and didnt want to be toyed with.
But when I finally said that lol he called his other date, cancelled with the other girl then called me back and said ok-I want to date you. She's toast. Whats your excuse now. I wa
I admired his gumption so we went out and have been together since. W ate at the resturant he proposed to me at: Mexicali Rose.

Re: Your First Date
We had met online. talked for a couple of times for hours. then he asked me out on our first date.
We went to dinner at the Sayville Inn and then went to the movies to see Ray Charles. At this point our date was already 7-1/2 hours ...he wanted to hang out more. I said , its 2:30 in the morning its time for me to go home. He called me first thing in the morning to say he had a wonderful time and would I go out with him again on Friday night. From our first date, we were inseparable.

Re: Your First Date
I was riding his bus for 5 weeks before we started talking more than 'good morning' or 'have a nice day'. I had asked him about his evening schedule - he drove a different but similar route, because my evening driver was ancient and so slow. As I got off the bus that morning, he gave me a card with his number on it and asked me to call him if I was going to take his bus that night he would look out for me. I did call him, and he asked me to meet him on 35th street near Sixth avenue where he usually waits until it is his time to pull into the bus stop. We chatted a bit, easier because there was no one else on the bus to eavesdrop. Time to go and pick up other passengers. As I got off the bus that night, I gave him my business card with my cell number on it. Morning, I get on his bus as usual, we chat a bit, not too much. He calls me that afternoon asking if I was going to ride his bus home that evening, I said yes, and he would pick me up closer to my office on Third Avenue, so that I would not have to walk so far. We ride up to Sixth Avenue, and on the way up, he asks me to dinner.
I said yes, the rest is history.

Re: Your First Date
I took my husband home the night I met him.
the following friday, he took me out on a *REAL* date. (he asked)
He called every night the week before and during a conversation I told him I have a thing for 70s funk...
He took me to a place called groove in the village where they had a live 70s funk band... It ruled.
then we went to Cielo and danced to house music. best date I ever had.

Re: Your First Date
Dave & I met online....so i think it was a mutual agreement of when to 'meet in person'.
We met in the parking lot of a Macaroni Grill (we were going to Chammps in the mall, but i wasn't sure where that was, so we met at the parking lot and i followed him over).
Our date started at 7:20 - we didn't want to be the typical, datey time of 7:00.... :)
We went to Chammps, the movies (austin powers, goldmember) and then back to my apartment.
It didn't end until 8:30 the following morning when he finally had to leave for work. We didn't do the deed, but we just couldn't stop talking...it was PERFECTION!

He did. We met at Starbucks and were talking for hours. He asked me if I knew of any good pizza places and would I like to go to dinner. I said yes and we went to a place in Bayridge called Nino's and then we went for a drive to look at all of the Christmas lights in Bayridge & Bensohurst.

Re: Your First Date
He asked. We went out on our first date exactly one week after the day we met. We went out to a cafe/lounge in Astoria, Queens and just hung out and talked for hours. I met him there because my friends insisted I drive there myself instead of being picked up in case I didn't like him in person or whatever, lol. It was a great first date!

Re: Your First Date
1) he asked me if I wanted to go out for dinner or coffee sometime. (which now I find funny cus he barely drinks coffee)
2) we went to the Cup (a coffee house somewhere on LI)
