Im such a traitor when it comes to music

I can list pages worth of Italian music, romantic, pop, rap (yep, can ya picture Italian rap- NOT on my favorites list ) If im listening to Italian music Im on a HIGH, Im in another world, ITs an addiction. I think because it has so much nostalgic connection for me. ALOT of the older songs bring back certain memories, and even songs that are 10yrs old and younger bring back memories of the last few times I went to ITaly and where we were, who we were with, when these songs came out...

Last week, I went into the Student Activities center at school, and I was talking to the advisor and I almost fainted when I heard what she was listening to (An Italian singer, Id say an 'Enrique Iglesias' type singer)... I got all sappy and nostalgic and sad and emotional

ITs just always been like this.
I LOVE many of our goodies like Billy Joel, Elton John, Madonna, and many others, even some mentioned above, and I know alot of them by hearing them, but wouldnt know the title or artist for anything... but my curiosity and drive on what to listen to is ITalian music. I feel like such a traitor, but thats whats in my heart..
9 out of 10 times, I'll be playing an ITalian CD instead of having the radio on and seeing whats new here.... I look forward to the annual Music Festival they televise here introducing new artists and current artists with new music... bad me...

Anna - you are too cute for words! I grew up listening to Italian music all the time, and even though I don't yearn to listen to it on a daily basis, I always enjoy hearing it b/c it takes me back to a time when my grandparents were younger and my great-grandparents were alive.

and I understand all the words, so it makes it all the more nostalgic...
you understand a little italian right?
IT makes me sad to know that JA will never meet my grandparents... and that he will never have those 'visits to ITaly' that I had so frequently growing up. and even if we do take him, its not the same there as it was 20-25 years ago. (Alot has 'modernized' even in the country there)...

Claud...i love that song...years ago...my radio in the kitchen just came on (it was old and you would have to hit it sometimes) and that song was playing...and it also reminds me of stopping to eat driving down to florida as a kid...I don't know why...



Anna...I understand how you feel...both DH and I had relatives we visited in Europe regularly(me Germany - him Spain) and I don't think our kids will have the same experiences that we did...
