My husband, Michael, and I met at a church function, and after a year of dating he decided to propose. He topped the romance scale by proposing on a white horse and carriage ride in upstate CT (complete with champagne and a beautiful ring, of course!)

After beginning my search for reception venues, I stumbled across an amazing two page ad for Oheka Castle, featured in a local Bridal Magazine. I knew that is was the place I wanted to get married: and since I got engaged on a horse and carriage ride, what better way to continue the fairytale than to have my wedding in a castle! The staff there was top notch, and my husband and I quickly secured April 7th as the day!

My wedding day was extra special as we had my uncle, a missionary in Costa Rica, preform the ceremony. We also decided to try something unique by tying a triple braided cord during our ceremony, symbolizing our faith. Since our wedding fell on April 7th, we used a bible verse from Ecclesiastes 4:7, talking about the triple braided cord. Our faith is important to us, so it was pretty cool. :)

Colors of my wedding: Lavender, with a hint of blush pink

My dress was purchase from Kleinfeld in NYC, designer Monique Lhuillier, shoes: Aruna Seth

Location of my ceremony and reception: Oheka Castle in Huntington, LI (April 7th)
