Marriage License!

The Marriage License is the one thing... besides each other that you can't get married without!
It is good for 60 days and takes 24 hours to mature. I recommend getting it about a month before the wedding, but it is never too early to make sure that you have your documents.

What to bring as for ID is a little different in the city and on the Island. The city will issue a license with just a passport or drivers license, while in Nassau & Suffolk you also need a Birth or Baptismal Certificate. The city has online forms that you can fill out at home then pick up the document within 21 days, but the Island has evening hours. Whatever works is totally the order of the day!
