0 check brides

Hey everyone! I'm fairly new here and just getting myself acquainted. I'm excited to be here though everyone seems so awesome and helpful! (and honest, which is important!!)

Everyone also seems so on top of everything, it made me a bit nervous at first. Was wondering if anyone currently is in the same boat as me and have ZERO checks yet? I'm still working on a venue and as you know that really has to be the first thing to do!

Hope to get that big check done soon though!! We are trying to decide between Land's End and Bridgeview Yacht Club....any opinions on either or both?? We are also throwing Venetian Yacht Club into the mix this weekend, but I think its going to still be between the first two.

We're all just getting by with the help of each other and a LOT of research. You'll get the hang of it. I don't know about the venues, but I'm sure you'll make the right choice for you.

I have checks.. but it took me about 4-5 months for the first check.

Then... I think about 10 months to get another check.

So take your time!

If it makes you feel any better, I have been engaged since November 20, 2010 and I only recently started booking my vendors. My FH and I didn't start doing anything wedding related until after the New Year. I just booked my photographer and videographer last night, my church 2 weeks ago and my hall on Super Bowl Sunday.

When I first joined, a few girls had several checks already and I was worried I was behind too. You have plenty of time though so do not feel overwhelmed and we're all here to help out!

Congrats and welcome to the addiction! I have no checks!!! We are hoping to book our venue sometime this month also. For us it will be between Timberpoint and Bellport Country Club. Lands End and the Venetian are both beautiful!!! Ive never been to the third one.

That's actually helpful to know! I was getting quotes in April which I know is cheaper but wasn't sure how much cheaper! It is still more than Bridgeview is even in May/June! If we do it at Land's End it will definitely be in April but if we do it at Bridgeview it might be in June!

We looked at Bellport, too!!! We loved how accommodating they were and the venue is very nice...A bit too far from the ceremony though (Bellmore, NY) for my guests, even Land's End would be pushing it which is part of the hang up!!

Two of my cousins used Land's End as their RH and it was amazing!! Food and atmosphere.

After the RH all checks will fall into place, you will see.

don't feel bad you have time. You already started looking at venues so thats a big start. Take your time until you find the place you love. Unless you are set on an exact date, then I would say to try to book soon. I wanted April/May and there weren't that many dates available for me to choose from at the reception halls that I went to see. So FH and I booked with the one we fell in love with right away.

Once you book the hall, thats it you'll be booking other things in no time! Good Luck.
