05 diet support group?

Original post by JPC1125

On slim down, there used to be a online support group that was started to keep up motivation and encouragement.
It seems to have dissolved over time but since we 05 brides are still trying to lose those last few pounds before our weddings, I thought maybe we could give it a go here?

Is anyone interested?
I would start the weekly update threads but anyone can post whenever you need a boost or feel like you need some support.

name------weight loss goal----------how
--------------------------------------------------
Jenn - 25 pounds;gym 3 days + portion control

eta: Ive lost 12 pounds but gained again so now im at -6 pounds

(thanks for this idea Diana! Its good to see what we HAVE accomplished instead of just what we havent!)

What happened to this thread-it totally died out since last Friday!!

I just wanted to report in to everyone that I went to the gym after work today :) I'm proud of my four days in a row last week and hope to make it four days this week if not more!!! I must admit to eating some junk food this weekend but did resist eating everything in sight!!

How are you ladies doing out there????!!!!!!!!!!!

i was thinking the same thing!!! good for you for getting to the gym! i went 4 days last week, sunday and this morning. i plan to go every morning this week too. after countless inappropriate comments from my mom i think i need to work out more!

Dleeny - congrats on going back to the gym...and 1000 crunches???? ouch

Unicorn - congrats on the 6 pounds.

As for me. I received my winsor pilates fat burning workout in the mail today and I did the 50 minute workout. OMG my abs are already hurting. It was an awesome workout. I loved it. Kinda hard to follow at first but with practice I will get it. I am gonna be in pain tomorrow...lol. Like they say no pain no gain.

Keep up the good work ladies.

Pilates for 50 mintues? Gosh.. I do the 20 mintue workout and I can barely get through it, but it's awesome!!! I think weekends are the worst! But we can all hang in there!! Woo hoo! 6 down 35 more to go!!

I went to the gym yesterday and today and then did abs at home. I've been eating REALLY well...except for the M&M's I have hidden in my desk drawer at work - for stressful days.

yup! i do arms, back and chest one day, then on the alternate days I do legs and abs. Today I did cardio for 40 min this morning and I just got back from the gym a lil while ago and I did 30 min of cardio because today was my 'off' day for weights. Tomorrow I will do legs and cardio and Thurs I will do arms, etc and cardio. I think its because I havent been really really good with my eating and thats whats killing me. but now im in the right frame of mind so hopefully things will progress from here im also going to start either going to the gym 2 times a day or just in the morning and then walking at night. i need to keep active since im an old lady and my metabolism isnt what it used to be

WOW! I wish I could exercise in the morning- I have tried and it doesn't make me feel good after, like it does when I work out in the afternoon. I am just not a morning person.

I had a horrible week last week- worked out 5 days but ate junk and drank alcohol way to many days! But I am back on track today!

Hello Ladies, this is my first post. I'm getting married next weekend...eeeek! Any ideas on how to lose a few pounds that quickly? I really need to tighten up the tummy. After 2 kids it got all flabby. My dress fits my fine right now, but would be nice to have a perfect fit.

Thanks

Re: 05 diet support group?

Real quick tips, Drink plenty of water every day. Cut out anything that would be gassy, like soda, or could cause bloating. You could try to tone up by doing a few crunches a day, but it wont guarantee anything by next weekend. The best bet would be to get all the water weight out of your body. You would be surprised at how much there can be!

There’s a diet message board on LIW and yesterday I saw a post by someone who lost 12 lbs in 13 days on Atkins.

PS: GOOD LUCK!!

My brother and I made a bet the other night for weight loss during the next 2 weeks. By next Tuesday I have to lose 8 lbs (down to 120) and he has to lose 25 lbs (down to 195). We have $100 riding on it.

Any more tips? I won't do Atkins or South Beach.

WOW! he has to lose 25 vs your 8? I know men lose faster... but sounds like you got the better deal

IMO, you should hit the gym 6x a week if you want to win. good luck!

I'm trying hard this week...been working out/eating healthy but today i have my first challenge...office bday cake. Normally I would skip it but friday its my bday and i feel OBLIGATED (lol) to eat a piece. AND bday dinner friday night. I mean i know this is a special situation but how do i not undo everything I've done??!

I HATE DIETING. WOW I HATE IT.

sorry temporary meltdown.

To not undo everything that you have done use will power and portion control. have a piece of cake, but make it half the size you would normally have. Same with eating out, have them pack up half before you even start and avoid the bread basket (i know that's a tough one) but it works.

Good Luck!

I will try that! Thanks for the advice. Sometimes will power is there and sometimes its nowhere to be found!!
