07 Lovelies...
I didn't contribute to the thread on the other site that hurt you, but I read like a page and a half before I turned away...all I have to say is that not everyone feels that way. And there are people who genuinely like to help and offer real and honest advice. So what if you're not always liked or if you don't run with a pack?
Wedding planning s*cked for me and in all honesty I hated it...I came to this site from theknot.com and at first I was turned off by the 'cliques' and the 'fake' posts (there were some hideous ideas at first and I didn't get why no one was saying 'that's really not flattering you') so I went back to theknot and finished planning. There was less drama there, more planning. Anyway, I came back here and became and avid poster post-wedding. That's when I made some lifelong friends and understood that some girls bond here and that as much as there is planning, there is also gossip, friendships, threads about life events, etc. It's just a different site. I realized that *I* didn't have to change...and honesty was needed and appreciated.
Please don't get sad or hurt. Know the difference. What you girls have is truly awesome. You all genuinely care about each other and remain positive day in and day out.
Your weddings will be over and you'll have the friendships...don't take mocking comments from past brides to heart. Not everyone looks at planning fondly. It isn't fun for all (I HATED IT!!)...and I'm sure no one meant to hurt you personally. And yes, the other site is full of great topics that can be enjoyed once the manic/exciting/sad/angry (get where I'm going here?
) planning time is over with. But as much as I love being married and don't miss planning...I look fondly on my wedding day. And know it was the best day of my life so far. So keep planning those gorgeous weddings!! ![]()
Keep being kind to each other...stay honest...and post pictures! And never forget the most important part - the marriage...life isn't all about cakes and flowers...![]()
Wishing you all a most Happy Planning time!!![]()
