08 Brides Please Help Shuttle/Hotel Question....

Hello, I am looking into blocking rooms at a hotel for guests to stay after our wedding. I am realizing that I would have to provide a shuttle on my own. HOw many of you did this and who did you go through? Was it costly.

Also if you blcoked off rooms what was the average price per night you found? My prices are higher than I expected.

I reserved my rooms but am not doing it. It will be up to everybody to get there. We are spending sooo much on wedding we cant do that too.
I called limo places & it would be about $1400- just for drop off/pick up.

We have a lot of OOTers coming (we blocked 35 rooms and have 20 booked so far) so transportation was important to us.

We blocked rooms at the Wingate Inn Garden City which has changed ownership and is now La Quinta Inn & Suites. I believe that you receive a free round trip shuttle for every 15 rooms booked, and 1 room booked for 2 nights = 2 rooms. Right now we're at a total of ~40 rooms (most people booked for 2 nights) so that makes 2 shuttles. We might even get 3, that would be awesome.

Rooms are $139+tax and include a free continental breakfast and wireless internet. I believe LQ's blocked price is something like $159 but they are honoring our Wingate Inn contract. I believe the website price is something like $189 or $199/night?

I blocked two hotels. Exec Inn, $119 a night and provided a free shuttle to and from the wedding and to local attractions and train, and had free breakfast.

Second hotel was Homewood Suites Hilton, $139 a night for a Suite. No shuttle provided, free breakfast every day and free dinner Sun- Fri.

I researched quite a few hotels and visited them. This was the best option for me.

We are in the process of getting a shutlle and limo for our wedding day - we are going to book it Saturday. I was quoted about $1,000 from one limo company and $1,100 from another including mininum gratuity, for one pick-up and drop-off from the hotel to the RH (we are getting married at the RH) and back again in the evening; same thing for the shuttle bus for our OOT guests. Our hotel blocked rate at the Hyatt in Hauppauge was $155/night. I know, it's expensive....we are giving a RD and Breakfast too. !!! FM me if you want more info!!!

We blocked at Hilton Garden Inn in Westbury...at $129/night and $159/night for the suites.

We are still shopping around for shuttle service to and from the hotel to the RH.

i blocked rooms at the Huntington Hilton for $139 a night. That was one of the better prices I found fo rmy weekend and with everything i was looking for.

i also booked a 42 passenger bus to bring the hotel guests back and forth. i did this through my limo company and it cost $1300. there was a smaller bus for $1100.
