08 crash... girls that have been to caribbean...

FH and I are having sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much trouble deciding on a honeymoon, so... Does anyone recommend a resort they have been to (doesnt have to be fancy) but something on the water...
Here's the deal, we have a budget of $3500 for our honeymoon....

FH hates the idea of an all inclusive resort like sandals because he used to be a chef and is a food snob, sooo he wants to be able to go find restaurants that he's researched yadda yadda and would rather spend money on that...
(im not picky i'd prefer all inclusive but hes adiment about not doing it)

all i care about finidng is a decent place on turqoise water where i can sit in a pool, hottub lay on the beach, and maybe snorkel and find some nightlife nearby...
so i guess from what I've researched Aruba or Bahamas would be best?

and we dont want to go to Jamaica, Dominican Rep, or puerto rico..

I was dissapointed with Aruba's food. Me & FH feel the same way...though we were pleasantly surprised on our cruise. Aruba's food is FAR overpriced & has beautiful ambience, but I didn't think it was the best taste for the $.

I liked Mexico (Cancun area) better for food/spa/beach & activities & it falls in your price range. Just don't do it during spring break.

how about St. John? There are a couple of resorts - caneel bay, westin. or you can rent a beautiful villa. the beaches are amazing - crystal clear water.

We are going to Turks and Caicos....we are staying at an all inclusive resort. But there are non-inclusives one being the Palms which I heard great things about.

We spent a holiday (not our honeymoon) at the Colony Club in Barbados. The resort was wonderful. Food was excellent (it's not an all -inclusive). Barbados is beautiful and the people are just the nicest you could meet. Hope this helps a bit

I would recommend the Sheraton/Westin on Grand Bahama Island. Its really a gorgeous resort, not all inclusive so its affordable. And they have a great pier area right across the street with lots of stores and restaurants and bars plus a really short flight. We went last January and had an amazing time. It’s not as hot as Nassua Bahamas cause its pretty much aligned with West Palm Beach Florida, so that should give you a good idea of the temperature in early April.
I’ve been too Aruba too and you can def do that for under $3500 as well. We went to La Cabana (its an all-inclusive) for under $3500 for 6 nights a few years ago. You can prob find a better hotel being that you don’t need to do all-inclusive. The food we ate was all at the hotel and it was good, not great. Although I have heard mixed reviews on the food there.
Because you are really into the food why not look into Cuisinart Resort in Anguilla or LeSport St Lucia? Ive never been to either but have heard really great things about them and about the food.

We just returned from our second trip to Caneel Bay on the 3rd...I LOVE this place. No phones, no TV, incredible beaches, amazing snorkling...the best place to relax, swim, and sun yourself!
