08er crashing...

did anyone get married at St. Joes in Kings Park?
I got the CD with the songs and I dont like any of them! What did you choose?

I didn't get married there, but as a church cantor, just wanted to let you know that you can choose anything you want! they give you the CD to give you some ideas of the options that are out there and/or to let you know appropriate choices.

however, if you LOVE a hymn from growing up or something that you hear at church, you can choose that instead.

music for a Catholic ceremony or Mass only has a few rules.

1. Music with words must mention, God, Jesus or Mary within the lyric.

2. No secular music is allowed... for example, no showtunes, no Josh Groban, etc. etc.

Many moons ago i posted a long thread on appropriate Catholic hymns for a wedding Mass or ceremony. Do a search and it should come up.
