Re: '08er crashing: DOC?

I had a full planner but if I hadnt I would have had a DOC

For the day of she kept myself and all the girls on schedule, help me get dressed as well as the other girls. Made sure that I ate something (which was big bc i wouldnt have eaten otherwise) helped my dad with his bout, she handed out bouts to our GMs and dads and helped put them on them. The morning of the florist delivered all my boks and we were one short-she called and dealt with that issue.

Before teh ceremony she put my veil in, made sure my makeup was looking good, carried my dress, bok, veil. Lined everyone up at the church and took care of my unity candle. Right before I went to cross the street to go into the church the receptionist called me over and said she needed my song list that they never received it even tho I had faxed AND mailed it. SO here I am with guest s in the church and they arent even playing my music. She gave me my list of chosen music which i forgot I had given her. She also remember my sneakers-this was very important-I DID NOT want to wear heels by any means

Afterwards we went to OWG she basically carried everything-my dress, bok and her normal emergency stuff, made sure we did the must take pics, had water, etc on hand for us.

She went to the RH, made sure the setup for the reception was correct to what I wanted, made sure I was calm etc, she made up a new bout for DH bc by this point with hugs, heat and pictures his had taken a turn for the worst, lined everyone up for entrances, got us drinks, made sure we sat and ate, made sure to keep reapplying lip gloss, took the giveaways away from me for our pictures, played blocker while DH and I ate dinner.

I really cant say its 1000% necessary to get one bc i had one so I have no idea what its like to plan without her. I can say that things went wrong that morning-we were short one bok-she called the florist and had it delivered, the limo that showed up was not the limo I booked so when i started to freak out she calmed me down and made me realize it was not something I had the time to freak out about, I of course got myperiod the morning of so I wasnt in the greatest of moods-she made sure I was ok, etc,

overall shemade sure that issues, problems were taken care of so i didnt need to do it, and she made sure that we were where we needed to be and were having a good time with no issues.

if money allows i would definitely get one

Re: '08er crashing: DOC?

I didn't use a DOC. For some it may be worth it, but I was able to do most of it on my own.

I had 1 issue the day of my wedding.. handing out tips @ the end of the night. However, if I had planned better, a family member or member of the BP could have handled it..

I dont know if a DOC is totally necessary. IMHO I would rather spend the money elsewhere

sorry peg

Re: '08er crashing: DOC?

i had one booked but she couldnt make it at the last second due to a death in her family, BUT my sister used one and it made a huge difference as far as stress goes. she took care of everything! my sister's florist forgot a bouquet and she pulled out some tools from her magical marry popins bag and made a bo-k in a minute flat as we were walking into the church! then on the dance floor someone stepped on my sister's dress and ripped it! she sewed it up in a matter of seconds and you couldnt even tell. some many things she did that saved us time and stress! so i would say, not necessary but if you can afford it, totally worth it.

Save your money.. you don't need one. You have a BM at the RH that will do anything you ask them to....

Did we need one no. Was she a lifesaver yes. She did a lot for me even though she was just my DOC. One thing (the most important thing) she did was handle a problem that we had with our limo company. If she wasn't there we (DH and I) or one of our parents would have had to miss and hour of picture taking. That's how long she argued for us while at the RH.

She was 100% worth it for us.
