09 Bride needs some help!

09 Bride needs some help!

Hi girls, I am an 09 bride who is helping my best friend plan her wedding. She has been engaged for exactly 2 years and has done nothing so far, so we are trying to get something together for her this coming July-Sept.

She is super laid back and flexible. Her wedding probably will not be a traditional one. Her one condition is that her wedding takes place on the water. Here are her stats;

Ceremony and reception to be at the same place

50 person limit

$60 pp

Is willing to have it at a restaurant

Wants top shelf liquor (or to be able to bring in some top shelf)

Doesn't matter where on LI it is, will even go into the City

She doesn't care if it is a Thurs-Sun night

Would possibly add more people and have a cocktail party wedding (no sit down instead) if the price was right

As I said she is super laid back. She is planning on having a huge party at her parents a different day so all the people she is unable to invite can help celebrate.

Any suggestions would be appreciated! Maybe it's a place you had or attended a shower, 50th birthday party, sweet 16, or just a restaurant?

Thanks girls!!!

Villa Umbertos in Elmont. It is not that attractive from the outside but has THE MOST AMAZING FOOD! Had my e-party there

How about trying Watercolors @ Huntington Hilton ? We had our engagement party there and I believe we paid approx. $40 pp. Top Shelf liquor and opted for a cocktail party and chose to have 7 butlered Hors D'oeuvres, which they constantly replenish all night. We also had a cheese & crackers & fruit / vegetable crudite table. You can select from different packages. Watercolors is in the lobby of the hotel but they section it off and decorate it elegantly for your affair. If you want to dance, then this place isn't for you because there is no dance floor but for a cocktail party it suites well. They can provide music but its the in house music that you hear through the phone system, so we rented out speakers and connected our ipod. We had 35 people @ the party and they all enjoyed themselves. We were complimented on the venue! Good Luck!

Check out Tutto Pazzo in Huntington (just north of the village). It's across the street from the water and there's a pretty tented area in the back with a fountain. Nice fresh Italian food. We almost had our wedding there, but decided on Honu, which was amazing, but not on the water and probably outside the price range if you're going with top shelf, but check it out too.

Also, The Harbor Club (on the water) probably has a package in the range you're looking for.

What about Rivera - Massapequa. It has a beautiful outside and dock.

Try Swan Club.... or Sans Souci of Sea Cliff.... The grounds are beautiful and I think she might be able to get a rate at about $60 per person... I say give it a try.

Marbella Restaurant in Bayside is freaking DELICIOUS. Went to a baby shower there and it was gorgeous. Sure a wedding would be just the same.
