09 CRASHER!!!

Hi ladies,

This question may lean towards the ladies who are already married. I've met wit a few photographers so far (Thomas Paul, Patken, 12th night and Dan Wagner) Its becomming increasingly hard to choose!!! Did you use a photographer that you absolutely love? I love Patkens style but you don't seem to get that many pics for the money. TP seems to have to most for the money but I love the more edgy style. I don't have a large budget so I'm trying to stay at <$4,000. Can you help?

It is a very personal decision. Yes I went with a photographer that I loved and am very happy with my pictures. However there was two other companies that I really liked as well, one was not available and one was way out of our budget. We thought about it but decided we could get work we really loved without going over our budget.

ETA: A lot of girls on here used TP and Patken so I am sure they can give you lots of feedback. From what I saw all the pictures were great and I didn't hear any complaints about not having enough pictures to choose for the album from either photographer.

i think its best to choose by looking at their work and seeing if their style of shooting and your likes mesh...also, my photographer is in your price range & personally, i love his work, perhaps you'd like to check him out henryshoots.com

Def make sure u feel comfortable with them and like their style and work.

After that....Sometimes seeing their contracts can help u decide. Some of them put really strange things in contracts. We were all set to sign with a few different people, but their contracts scared us away.

all of them do great work. i would say go with the one that you feel most comfortable with...with regards to personality, pics, price...it's definately hard. its not super easy to go by 'amount' of pictures because each day is unique and the shots will totally depend upon any given situation.

so my opinion is to not really focus on the amount of pictures but the quality of work for what u want/need...to make sure they take all the standard shots u want (even though they know what they are provide a list).

One of my FH's friends used Dan and was VERY VERY happy. Their albums are amazing. Dan shoots every wedding himself, so you know it's going to be gorgeous

I used Dan Wagner. He was wonderful to work with and I am in love with my pictures.

I definitely think you should LOVE your photographer, out of all vendors i think this one most of all you need to LOVE. This is the one vendor that after your wedding youwill be very disappointed if you don't love their work. I mean flowers you will get over if its not exactly what you wanted, the day is over and you get over it, and even the same with some vendors. But the pics are what you will have after the wedding to always remember them and look back at your day.

I looked simply at quality of work and picked a photographers whose work i absolutely loved and once I saw her pics i said 'THATS EXACTLY what i want my wedding photos to look like' once i saw her work I said there was nobody else i wanted to shoot my wedding.

I will second florezpeeps recommendation. Henry did an AMAZING job on her pics and i know her personally and was her BM and the day of he was so great to work with.

DAN WAGNER is the way to go !!!

I just recently got married ! On September 20, 2008 in NYC and I also met with several photographers and we immediately connected with Dan Wagner. We were looking for creative, photojournalistic pictures. Our standard were high. We did not want all the photos to be traditional, we wanted great pictures but creative ones, ones that would capture the moment. Not only did Dan Wagner deliver but working with him was stress free - he was responsive, listened to what we wanted and never got in the way. I felt that we were just having our moment and he was there to capture it. We had our reception at night on a boat with the NYC skyline and the pictures were spectacular. Now that is an accomplishment cause you could never make everyone happy when it comes to Wedding planning.
