Your cake... this is my recent stressor.

Fresh flowers or sugar flowers / fondant?

No flowers. The bows were fondant the rest is butter cream. It was chocolate cake with chocolate mousse and canoli (alternating tiers) filling.

Buttercream, no fondant.

Love my cake. It was so delicious I could eat it every single day. Vanilla cake, vanilla custard filling.

Topper is from Things Remembered.

Mine was buttercream icing with sugar flowers...the cake was a little boring looking I thought, but it tasted great!

we were told it's better to use buttercream because whipped cream tends to 'melt' since the cake is left out.

We had shimmering fondant, the filling was alternating between white chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries, the ribbon was actual ribbon and not sure what they made the flowers out of, but they werent real...wish they would have made the roses a little more open then they were, but oh well....

The first pic is what I gave them to go by and the second pic is how our cake came out.
