'09er Crashing...For those of you with really long trains or big gowns...
I am ordering my dress in the next week or so and I have a question for the ladies who had super long trains or big gowns. My train is super long, about 10-12 feet, it's actually detachable so I won't have to worry about carrying around a lot of weight, but my question is, you can't dance with that kind of train, right? I think that would be crazy!! Haha!!
My gown is kinda big too, it has pickups on the back but the front is like a ball gown, did you have a hard time dancing in it or getting close to people for hugs and stuff...I'm kinda worried about that! The silly things we worry about as a bride!!
Thanks ladies!!

I had a big gown (you can see pics in my album) I LOVED dancing in it. I felt like a princess all day...I do have to say though that by the end of the day my body just HURT! lol My back from that heavy bustle and just toting around the gown all day....but it was worth every second of it!

i thought i would have a hard time dancing but i had no problems. You'll be fine and yes you can hug people too. At the beginning of the night DH pulled me on the dancefloor and i just remember thinking 'OMG how am i going to do this right now' but then it became so easy and was able to do more than i thought i would.

Beautiful dress! You'll be fine. It's easier to move in then you think especially once you get it hemmed and such...

The train actually comes off!!! It's really neat!! It just velcros right underneath the pickups!! So if I need to put it back on for pics or something I'll be fine!!

Thank you so much!! I had a hard time with the whole dress thing, but I came back to this one after the 2nd time I went dress shopping back in February. After I tried it on again, I just knew it was the one. I kept trying to make every other dress like this one...I can't wait to wear it!!

oh then that will also take alot of the weight off, so when youre on the dancefloor remember that will probably be off and wont be as heavy.

That is true...I just hope that FH doesn't step and trip on it when we're dancing!! Sometimes I look at some of the girls on the wedding shows on the WE channel and i wonder how in the world they function all day with that big thing!!
...but then again, when in the world can we wear a huge gown and get away with it!!

I thought I was going to have a hard time dancing, but honestly you really have so much the energy.

I had a detachable train as well! I danced the first 2 dances with it on then had them detach it (mine was held on with hook and eyes). I did feel much more comfortable without it on but i could have kept it on all night. BTW your gown is gorgeous!
