1 Man DJ/MC

1 Man DJ/MC

Hi girls! Is anyone else doing a one man DJ/MC? I feel like this is the way everyone is leaning towards now. Honestly I think it might be too much to have both. The MC really only does the beginning announcements. Thoughts?

Also - is anyone getting uplighting?

we are doing the one man dj/mc with after hours. i feel like phil is perfectly capable of both and i do not want my guests overwhelmed with two.

in terms of uplighting, i did not originally want it, but may add it in after going to the bridal showcase at TVI last night and seeing it in action. i really liked it.

I used Phil and got the uplighting from him, it was gorgeous and really added something special to the room. You can see my pics in my review on the review board.

awesome!

would you be able to FM me your quote for this? i really don't think TVI needs 30 uplighting boxes around the room ... and the price he told me is just a lot I think. I think i would need half the number of boxes, maybe 20 tops.

I have a DJ and MC. I booked with Bravura and you get to chose the level you want the MC involved so I picked as little as possible. I think the DJ needs to be focused on just the music.
I am having uplighting, i was iffy at first because I didn't want my room one color the whole night as I feared it would be too much but I can change it through out the night so I will probably stat with something dramatic upon walking in the ball room, then switch it to clear/natural up lighting during dinner and then back to a color for dancing the rest of the night. I love the look of it

We have a one man DJ/ MC through after hours too. We haven't picked which person yet but they were affordable and have awesome reviews :)

This. We are using Brett. We told him we weren't into the 'in your face' type of mc, like, 'Cmonnn party people get on the floooor!!' all night. He totally understood and was cool with it.

Same! We didn't even ask for a specific person, but we were very assured that they understood what we didn't want and they've been great so far!

I didn't have the one man dj/mc, I had two man combo, plus uplighting and photo booth. My prices are most likely outdated now. I would send Phil an email and he will be able to mail you a price list. He is very good to work with.

If he has worked at your location before, trust his count on the uplighting. He quoted me 20 more heads than any other uplighting place, and he was right on the money.

We are doing a one man dj/mc with Frank from FM Entertainment. His prices were very reasonable and he's been great to deal with so far.
