Where is Smithtown Gold's located??

I'm joining Gold's in Smithtown as soon as I get my car back. I went to a two week trial there and I loved it. The classes are awesome and the staff is very nice. The parking gets a little tight at times, but if you go later in the evening there are no issues.

Novbride- I had a pass last month and never used it. I am hoping to call there again and see if I could get another one. Which classes have you taken?

cindy-you can get a 30day pass on the website. i think AT the gym they only give one or 2 week passes.

Anna,
The only thing is that they gave me a free pass already. I am sure they are going to check and see they gave me one. I never got around to using it.....

tell them a *good* reason why you didnt use it (school, work, etc.) and tell them you'd love to try it out and you have a new pass.
i doubt they would even notice.

*Get one off the internet.
*Go in with it.
*if they DONT notice, youre in luck, ENJOY
*If they DO notice, tell them you never got to use it and heard about the website pass.

A salesperson will NEVER turn away a potential customer. beleive me !

go for it !

Re: 1 Month Free @ Golds Gym?

in this world, you have nothing to lose. I just ask for things (or negotiate) and I usually do good !

Im famous for my tangents
Last week, my sis and I weregetting a haircut and higlights. and she told us it would be 65 for the cap (hilites) and 25 for a haircut/blowdry. but we wanted foils (more money) so it would be closer to $100 each, plus the $25 for the cut. so my sister was ready to sit and get started cutting. (we were pampering ourselves for the day and money was no object ) but I HAVE TO swindle and negotiate, i think its a natural high for me. and its fun to see where you can push people to (And how much profit they are really making and what they WOULD let you get away with.)
So the hairdresser, was a SWEETHEART, and i kindly said to her:
OK, so its 2 of us here, we have to make a pkg deal! (and my sister looked at me like
what are you doing?) and she goes 'ok' and i said '$130 for both?' and she goes ' NO I CANT ! MY BOSS IS OVER THERE, you HAVE TO ASK HIM, I CAnt im sorry' and then she goes '$150' and i go 'I'll meet you in the middle, $140 for both' and she goes 'hmm, ok'.
My sister almost fell over. I just cut the price in half with a little conversation.
Youd be surprised at what/how much people are 'allowed' to negotiate at what theyre selling.
Needless to say we were so happy that we tipped very generously and that made our day.

Sorry for the blabbling !

Anna - I LOVE that story. Now, can you and I negotiate a deal where you come with me for my next haircut and color, and get me a better price? I want to get highlights next month for my friend's wedding, but I don't want to break the bank!

Re: 1 Month Free @ Golds Gym?

Claud, SURE, I'd love to come with you ! (but I wont stay for the 3 hours of 'hold your breathe because of the strong smell' part, LOL.

some places are GREAT to haggle with and some are not. it depends on where you go.
This place was in the Village (Astor Place). I was actually shocked that I was able to negotiate it because its a very popular place and they are busy 24-7 and in NO need of extra customers. So I was giving my sister little winks to say 'Wow how did i get away with that one?' LOL.

Alot of hairdressers suggest doing HALF of your head (the top half) because the bottom wont show anyway (I did the whole head), so that they can charge you less. thats also an option.

Id day anywhere in Smithtown/Commack negotiating might be tough. and i highly recommend the foils vs the cap, they get much closer to the scalp. and make sure they condition/tone the roots, blends the color in to reach the roots.

Do you know where youre going ?
Ive paid $65 for HALF of my head in the past out here. Just to think for 5 bucks more, I got the WHOLE head, plus they did a MUCH better job and I got a cut and blowdry.

I would pick a Manhattan hairdresser any day
If you can work and meet the demands of NYC customers, you can work anywhere...
ok, enough babbling.
I know the commute/trek is way too much from out here. Im in Queens alot, so it wasnt a big deal for us...
