Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
What about candy apples??
Or, I just had another idea (lightbulb appears over head)... Put together little gift bags of candy-- go to Costco and buy a bunch of stuff in bulk.. or they have bulk candy place on line.. all the candy can be ones with 'love' sounding names like: - Sweettarts - Hershey Kisses - Sugar Daddy - Good & Plenty
You get the point..

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
Just curious why a $1.30?
How about CD's? They would come out to less....Or we are doing lotto scratch offs...even with the packaging its about that price... Or newspapers and doughnuts?
I like the candy idea too....
Or there is always candles...you can get all different kinds of nice ones around for cheap these days...
I think I may have an old post of 101 favor ideas..I'll look...

Another candy bar name-- 'Celebrations', 'Combos'
You can write a little note or something to go with the bag to tie it all together.
we will have jordan almonds in little organza bags to decorate the table, but as far as favors go, not having them...

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
do you think people will be really disappointed if you don't have them? What about donating to a charity and spending a few cents on making some scrolls for each guest stating which charity you donated to, or even just making a pretty sign.

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
I was at a wedding today and they gave out little scratch pads. I think something on the table is better than nothing. It also looked very cute!

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
I second the charity idea. You have too much to do and too little time to do it. We decided even before we were engaged... we are writing a check and making a sign. We'd rather see our money go to a good cause than a knick-knack that I then have to spend hours wrapping or whatever and it's one more thing to drop off and worry about.
This is especially a good idea to honor another family member who battled an illness or donates their time. My Dad had a stroke so we are giving to the American Heart Asoc.

I would donate the money to a charity. That's what we did. The money will go to a good cause.

Do you have a theme at all for your wedding? We bought ice cream cones, inexpensive, but nice ones, from Walmart.

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
Mini bottles of wine. We bought ours at a liquor store in Merrick and they were about $1.10 per bottle and we gave one per couple. We wrapped them ourselves in tulle and tied them off with personalized ribbon and jordan almonds. I think all total for 125 bottles all decorated we spent about $200. And we had a lot left over. I got too many . Or what about making a donation and printing up scrolls on your computer. This way you can spend what you can afford and no one will ever know what was spent.

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
donate to a charity and then print up scrolls for your guests stating that is what you did and have the hall put them at each table setting.
otherwise contact some of the vendors on the board who specialize in favors. I've heard great things about alot of them and they'll have great ideas!

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
what about a lotto scratch off ticket in a vellum envelope with a computer printed sticker that has your names/date/etc and then a 2004 penny to scratch it off???
or what about a donation to a cause you both are closely affected or drawn to?? (then you can have scrolls printed up!)

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
I did coffee favors. They were silver coffee bags with a personalized sticker that says the Perfect Blend with our names and wedding date. Do a search on Coffee Favors. They were really reasonable. I gave one to each couple. I placed them in Cellophane bags with Rock Sugar Candy and tied a bow. They were cute.

You don't have much time -- you need something that's no fuss and will be ready quickly.
Maybe these fans? They're from weddingfavorites.com
Go to the dollar store! You can get ice cream scoopers and tie them with pretty ribbon in your color...
Decent dollar stores also have cute wallet-sized picture frames...
You can't go wrong with a few Hershey's kisses wrapped in tulle and tied with a ribbon...

Re: 1 MONTH LEFT AND NO FAVORS
I personally think it would be a good idea to donate to charity. However, if you want to give something, the dollar store near Century 21 in Westbury has lots of nice stuff.
