1 or 2 photographers?

Okay ladies - are you having 1 or 2 photographers?

I like the idea of having 2 photographers, esp for the candid pics. However...what do I need with 1400+ pics?? Once the albums are made and I chose the prints for gifts and for the house...what do I need with 1400+ pics??

What do you ladies think??

Just finished writing my review of Patken and this was my biggest worry. I felt like with one photog doing everything I would not be able to enjoy my wedding but instead sitting there posing for pics. I feel a lot better with 2!

I'm only having one photographer.

I completely understand if you're worried that just one will miss some important shots, but when it all comes down to it, one photographer will know which moments are important to catch and will probably get more than 500 pictures, many of which will be fantastic. As long as you have enough good ones to choose from for your albums, I think you'll be ok saving the money :)

I'm having 2 because that is what our package included, which works out because I wanted 2 anyway... I wanted pictures of my fiance' getting ready for the day as well!

Plus as my photographer put it, God forbid something happens on the way to the church or reception to the main photographer, you always have that 2nd one to back him or her up in the time being and no precious picture taking time is missed!

I would love to have two just in case. But I am only having one. I'm going to tell them my most important pictures and hope for the best! I also have two friends that are in photography that are coming as guests so I hope they take good pictures as well.

We have 2 photographers...one is more traditional and the other is more artistic and both their pics just come from different angles you might not get with one photographer. And for video we are doing 2 as well because I want the front view and back view of everything!!

I never even considered the pros and cons of 1 vs 2...our photog comes from Brooklyn and his wife is an assist so I didn't even question anything - I just love his work! if we end up with a million pictures, I'll probably just tuck them away and when I want to see the things I forgot about, I'll pull 'em out

Re: 1 or 2 photographers?

2 photographers was always a big must for me. I want FI to have one getting ready and one for me as well and after we're married, like many ladies are saying, one will consentrate on portraits while the other is getting those private, candid, photojournalistic type shots. For all those same reasons I pushed for a second videographer. FI wasn't to keen on it but I want the opportunity to see and hear him getting ready for our big day. I want to know what he's thinking and how he's acting. Call me crazy but it meant a lot to me so FI caved. We signed last wee with Studio 27 because their style and hands on approach was very appealing to us. We're going to have both owners of the company with us at our wedding which also makes me feel very comfortable. So excited for our e-shoot with Franco but I want to wait until school is over for me or at least it starts to get a bit less crazy (ELA was last week, Math exam this week, I'm musical director which goes up the week after that, grades are dues, etc) so I can concentrate on being a happy go lucky bride rather then a stressed out lunatic. It wasn't an easy choice but these are the things that last a lifetime so I've decided to compromise in other areas.Good luck making your choice.

I'm having 2. That way one can be with the guys getting ready and one with the girls. We're also having over 200 people so I want to make sure we have pix of everyone and everything. If its in your budget than why not?

Yes two are so worth it! There are so many shots or angles that one get that another may not get. And even if you have 1400 photos there are a ton of duplicates and they are edited different...and you may like one out of like 4 of the same thing.

its nice to have 2 photographers. The other one will get your husband to be while he is preparing and the other one will take photos of you while you are getting ready. PLUS you get different angles :)

Girl I was debating the same thing too. I only added a 2nd one like two months before my wedding when I knew that I could afford it. Yeah there will be lots of extra pictures, but you have all the time in the world to make your own albums or choose different shots to give to people.

What I really wanted a 2nd one was for the ceremony. I wanted front and back shots of me walking down the aisle. I can't imagine 1 guy running around like crazy.

We have 2. It makes me feel so much better knowing that both FH and I will have getting ready shots and no moment will be missed.

we are having 2 photographers. I wanted to make sure that i got all the pics of both of us getting ready as well as all the small things going on at the party that one person can't catch all. We are having over 200 people also. So thats a lot of people to make sure you get everyone in pictures.
