I'm about to book my photographer which is Velvet Studio, since I'm trying so hard to save for a house I'm trying to figure out ways to cut costs. One way I can save a bunch is to use 1 photograher ( Just Bob ) instead of 2 What do you ladies think? Has anyone used just 1 photographer from velvet studio?

I haven't used Velvet - but a good rule of thumb is by knowing how many people will be at the wedding. If your number is 100 - 125'ish - you will be fine with one - but any more than that - and you may want two.

I didn't use Velvet Studio but I would definitely book 2 photographers if $$ is not a big issue for you. Originally I only had 1 photographer since I thought to myself 'I'm sure one photographer could do the job and besides, if I had 2, it'll jsut be double of the same shot'. BOY, was I wrong. We got lucky because DH's cousin is actually a photographer and he volunteered to help us to take pictures on that day. I had 2 photographers at the end. His pictures were amazing and I actually loved it more than my photographer that I paid for. They both had totally different style and I got 2 sets of pictures from that day. I think one way to save money is to find a freelance photographer to take pictures for you as a second photographer. At the end, take all the digital proofs and make your own album. I thought about doing it before DH's cousin volunteered. You'll be surprised how good some of the free-lance photographers are. If you need one, let me know.

i would use 2. try to cut back on other things...my theory photographs last forever. it outlasts the day and should outlast all those who attended the wedding. the ice sculptures, invitations, flowers..are gone by the day of the wedding.
i used the main photographer for his artistic approach and the 2nd photographer for catching everything in between.

We got hired an asssitant for our photographer, we figured it would be extra coverage and also the assistant will go to DH's house before the wedding so there will be photos of both of us getting ready.

We have 2 photo and 2 video...we felt it was the most important part so we splurged a little!

We are doing 2...one will be with FH while he's getting ready and one will be with me. One leaves after we do all the important stuff in the RH and the other stays the entire day.
ETS: We're saving for a house too and are cutting corners elsewhere. To me the photograhy & RH are the most important.

I had 3 photogs (only paid for two though!) and the angles and variety of the shots was really worth it to me.

we booked with Velvet studios. and got the 2 photographers.. i think he automatically has the 2nd. i think its included in the basic package.. i would see what the difference is. im happy we are having the 2.

I would definitely have 2. Photography is one vendor that i feel is worth it. They are preserving the memory of your wedding day forever so I would want it to be the best possible. Also, before the ceremony FH and I will be in 2 completely different locations (me in Brooklyn, FH in LI) so I will want a photographer with each of us.

I am only using 1 photographer. I know many people have that just used 1 and they got more than enough pictures to choose from. Do whatever you feel is best for you on that day.

How big is your wedding? If you are having a small wedding, you may only need 1.

You honestly have to make the right decision for your budget. With that being said, we used Velvet and had 2 photographers. Bob was the main photog and his wife Jean was the 2nd photojournalist photog. If you can live without a ton of photojournalistic shots, go with one. But honestly, I'd try and move some other things around to have 2 photographers. We actually ended up with 3 photographers -- 2 from Velvet and one of DH's friends.

We had 2 - it was a somewhat last minute decision and something I had to convince DH of - but it was one of my best wedding decisions. I loved the variety!

we paid for one---but techicnally we got 2 -- the photographer brought alone an asst. who shot the entire day as well.
