1 photographer vs . 2 photographers

Alright ladies .. is anyone having just one photographer for the whole day? If so, are you nervous that there is only one? Who is having 2?

1 photographer vs . 2 photographers - Long Island Weddings

We are having a photographer and a photojournalist. I really wanted someone to take photos of everyone, candid moments, etc that is what the PJ is for while our main photographer will be focused on FH and I.

Re: 1 photographer vs . 2 photographers

ok so my FMIL is a retired photographer for over 20 years and worked weddings every weekend. She came with us for our appointments because she had all of the right questions to ask and had a way of looking at a wedding photo and seeing things like shadows and other techniques that I would have never noticed on my own..

Anyway, we were going to go with 1 photog, and she reallly stressed that we go with 2 and spend the extra $... This is because the main photographer is responsible for getting all of those 'must take' posed shots that so many of us really don't like anymore, but still need in our wedding photos anyway... the 2nd photographer is there taking all of those laughing, candid, organic side moments within the posed shots that so many people love to see... Also, the main photog during the reception takes alot of photos of you and your FH, while the 2nd photog can get some really great pics of the guests dancing, which gives you the chance to be able to see of those moments you missed on your wedding day... She also said if you plan on getting ready in separate locations, it's nice to have one photog at each location getting pics of everyone getting dressed.

We are having 2. Everything I've read says 2 is better to capture more moments.

I'm doing two. My church is pretty strict with photos during the ceremony. They don't like when photographers are crossing in front of the alter and I get it because when a photographer is running around like crazy it takes away from the sacredness of the ceremony. So I'll have one each side plus I agree with everyone else. You need two to get all the 'must haves' and the candid shots.

we only got 1 because we are keeping our wedding to 100 people as a max most likely. we really wanted the day to be on the smaller side and more intimate and I stressed to my photographer that I wanted very few posed photos. He also felt we wouldn't need 2 with only 100 people because he is the owner who is actually shooting our wedding and I have full confidence in him. I'd go with whatever you are most comfortable with!
