1 week till my wedding and my florist tells me this

she cant get peonies. my entire bo-k is 20 peonies. all the bm have peonies in it and so does the centerpeices. she told me to do pink roses instead. no offense to girls using roses- but i hate them and always have. what the hell am i going to do??????? i am so upset

why can't she get them?

what is it about the peonies that you like - is it the specific color you can get them in, the shape, etc?

eta - this really sucks but i am sure we can help you figure it out

i know you said you hate roses but have you looked at cabbage roses? they have a similar shape. also maybe ranunculas (i don't think i am spelling that right)

awww i'm sorry! WHY? what was the reason?

And i am not a big fan of roses either but i went with them because i wanted lavendar flowers and peonies don't come in purple. But my flowers were pinkish anyway so i should've just went with peonies.

Did she originally tell you she could?? I'm surprised by this because their only in season from may to June. Thats NOT cool if she told you she could get them for you and is now recanting.

i love peonies too, but i knew it wasn't realistic for my october wedding, so i'm using ranunculus.

I am getting married next week as well and wanted peonies in my bridesmaid's bouquet. When we booked last year, our florist told us that peony season is usually over by this time but SOMETIMES the season last a little longer- obviously not this year We decided on garden roses because they have the same fluffy quality as peonies. Google some pictures and maybe you'll like them as well. Good luck!

PS- I forgot to mention, like you- I HATE ROSES! Nothing against the girls that love roses but they are not my type of flower. Garden roses really do not look like typical roses.

Yeah, I was going to say the same thing- I'm surprised she said she could get them at all. It's near impossible this time of year. Have you heard of ranunculus? Those have almost a peony feel.

I love peonies also, but since I knew they wouldn'b be in season, asked my florist about ranunculus - but she said those wouldn't be available either Definitley going to have to look into that (Date twin!)

i'm not a fan of roses either, but i LOVE garden roses. can she sub them in? or maybe pink ranunculus? They look a lot like peonies too.

I'm sorry but your florist should have been honest with you from the beginning. I love peonies too but my florist told me you can't get them after June some years. They are in season may and June.

thank you so much for the suggestions girls!! i am going to email her the pics you guys sent me and see what she can do. she only gave me the option of rose- so i will get back to you and see what she says!
