wow you guys have only been together 1 year? How long have you been engaged?
A nice dinner out is a good idea. How about in the city with a horse & carraige ride at Central Park?!

We got engaged 9 months into the relationship. This october 9th it will be 11 months and on november 9th it will be one year.
I know you are going to say wow that is sooo fast....We have heard it before. All I have to say, is when you know....you know. About 2 months in we both knew that we were going to get married in the future, she just didnt know when I was going to ask her and how I was going to do it..

Did you go out to eat anywhere special on your first date? You could re-create the meal you had (if you remember) by cooking it yourself. For our one year anniversary, FH started celebrating it 12 days before the actual date and, each day, he brought me a different present representing one of the 12 things he loved most about me, i.e., he loved my caring and kind nature and my willingness to do good things for others, so he donated money in my name to a charity (only $25, but it wasn't really about the amount); because he thinks I'm beautiful, he bought me bath soaps and lotions, etc. You could do something like that and it doesn't have to cost a lot of money.

We actually met at Starbucks. We met on the internet, through match.com. Our first real date was at MAcaroni grill in Westbury. We went there for our 6 month anniversary.
I was thinking of cooking a nice dinner for us with candle light....but after that im not sure what else I would like to do.
I wish I could take her away for a romantic weekend to Cape May or something, but I cannot. She still lives with her parents, and they are very old fashioned.

What about a vineyard tour during the day? Then have your nice candle lit dinner with a bottle of the wine you purchased that day.
What are some of the good winerys out on the island?

I think a romantic dinner would be perfect. Also, what about a day trip (to the city, or to montauk depending on your tastes). In the city you could take a carriage ride, or simply enjoy the park.
The day DH asked me to marry him we just went to a museum, out to dinner, then to the promenade in brooklyn. Nothing too over the top, but very a fun and romantic day.
scott...martha clara has a nice vineyard with a place to hang out...but you can check out LIwines for special events they may be having for your weekend...
