10-12 per table...

if the hall tells you that you can seat 10-12 people per table, would 12 feel too crowded??? (my reception is at jericho terrace)

I have oval tables for 10-12. I'm doing 10 at most a few have 8 & one has 11. I think 12 is too full.
You'll have your centerpiece, table #, Disp cameras?, favors? it depends on what else you have on each table.

I agree with richsbride 12 is to much.I want to make my guest feel as comfitable as possible.

I went to a wedding with 12 seated at a round table and it was definately too tight. It made it harder not only to sit, but for the serving people to serve. If you can alternate between 10 and 12, save the 12 person tables for only those that may have children seated, if you are having kids.

my hall said to seat 10-14 at each table, but I went no higher than 12 at a table. 14 is WAY too many people and 12 is tight. I only had to do one 12 table so far. It was a problem trying to find that extra couple a seat at another table where they knew people, so we decided to squeeze them in.

I was at a wedding at Jerhico Terrace with 12 people at our table. I was comfortable - It didn't feel too tight to me.

I have rectangular tables, so do you think that 12 would still be too much?

I think a rectangle shaped table might be easier to fit twelve. 5 on each side and 1 at each end. Oval is a little bit more difficult considering the ends are rounded! Lucky you!

I think 12 may be a little tight, but unfortunatly I think I may have to do that at a few tables. I'd try to stick to 10 if I were you Good luck with whatever you choose!

My oval tables are also 10-12 people. I have to fill some of the tables to 12 since that would mean seating some guests with people they do not know or breaking family groups up in a weird way.
I saw the table set up for 12 and my FH sat in many of the chairs (he is 6'4). It was fine and there was enough leg room and elbow room. I would 'test' out your site and verify.

I am trying to stick to 10 myself. It is difficult. I will have a couple of 11 and 12's. I also have a few 8's...I hope my hall doesn't give me a problem!

My mom who is a banquet manager, of course depending on the table types said 12 can get squishy. She said 8-10 is a nice size. Anything under 8 is empty. Halls don't like to do 8 because you have more tables therefore need more staff and the room is a little too crowded.

ask your hall...mine had different sized tables depending on the number of people sitting there...

Definitely depends on the hall's dimensions, tables etc....we had 10 & 12 person oval tables. They were fine. (eg: our room fit 250 people & we had 165 so there was plenty of space b/w tables)....our hall (JA's) charged us 100 bucks for 8 person tables so we didnt do them! Find out if they there is a fee incurred for under 10 pp tables... we didnt find this out until menu planning stage.
