The nickel and dime thing is SOOOOO true. The cost they quote you never includes anything beyond the most basic!

The DJ thing is so scary! I can't even imagine how it would feel for something to ruin the whole party like that.

I also learnt this the hard way! Sadly, the majority of us, has never planned a wedding before, so to go through everything with a 'fine teeth' comb and ask about things that are NOT on the contract....is so hard to do, since you don't know what the proper questions are to ask.

I have already been a victim of the nickel and dime :(

Luckily I ave not been caught by these things but then again.. I ask hundreds of questions and read everything!!! I also went into this knowing if it says 'wedding' i am going to pay

i so agree with the part about 'weddings' being so much more expensive than any other events -- i tried to avoid 'wedding' vendors as much as I can primarily because of this but sometimes u just don't have a choice - i can't stomach how other people can work in this business to rip brides off!!

I agree about the wedding cake thing. It has gotten out of hand, but it is also b/c their is more time and energy put into cakes these days. Go ask Collette Peters I am sure she can tell you =P

I hate telling vendors I am getting married ,b/c I feel like they automatically slap the 'Sucker' sign on my forehead.

If you are educated and do your research before you go into a vendor, then you should be able to avoid being taken for a SUCKA!!! :)
