10 year high school reunion!!!

Mine is coming up this November...

Did you go to yours?

Did you or would you bring your DH/FH?

I'm debating whether or not I should go alone. DH doesn't WANT to go but will for me... I'm not friendly with anyone from H.S. anymore- but I did have a lot of friends.

Should I go stag?

I went to mine and had a blast!!! I did not know my fh at the time or I would have brought him. I was lucky enough that my bro married someone from my class so it was a family reunion as well as a regular reunion. Good luck!

Mine is this year as well, and I'll definitely bring DH since he went to high school with me. LOL. If he wasn't from the high school I could see why it would be awkward to have him -- you'll be having a hard enough time catching up with old friends without worrying about introducing him and seeing if he's having fun.

I went to mine & at the time Fh & I were not engaged.
I went with an old high school friend but there were plenty of couples there.
I say do what makes you feel comfortable
Have a great time

I hesitated going to my reunion, but a friend convinced me to go. I'm so glad I did 'cause we had a great time.

Go!!

Sigh...I feel so old...my 20th year reunion is next summer!!

You couldn't pay me to go to my reunion, which is also in November. DH isn't going to his either. Mine cost about $100 a person which I find so ridiculous, and I'm still close with a few of my friends from high school so I really don't see a reason to go.

I went to my 10 year and felt that not too many people had changed. I mean....we really didnt do much in 10 years. 4 of it was for college!! all in all...we had a good time! I went with my g/f's but had no bf at the time!!

My 20 year reunion was the beggingin of augst but I did not go. I heard from a few friends that went that I really didnt miss much!!

I went to mine...took fi. We had fun, we always have fun together. I met up with three old friends that had lost touch. However, you have heard of the 'wedding mills' where there is 10 things going on at once...well we had ours at the Uniondale Marriot. It was the 'reunion' mill. Too many reunions at the same time. All right next to each other. Everyone was out in the hall all mixed up.It was sorta funny. People were coming up to me, trying to place me (but never would since they were from the reuion in the next room) lol It was nothing like the ones on TV. No one even said anything on the mic. I was dissapointed alittle. But Im glad I went.

I'm still on the fence as to whether to take DH or not- it's $90 a person. I don't mind spending the money but I don't want to torture my DH or have him be the only significant other.

At the same time, what if everyone brings there DH and I don't? I don't want to seem like a big loser! ( I still have issues about high school).

My reunion is at the Marriot Uniondale too- I'll probably see you all there!!!!

I'm planning on attending mine, but as far as DH goes, he decided not to come.
That's cause I told him I'd walk him around the room saying so this is my DH he graduated high school when we were in the 1st grade!!!
I laughed he didnt think it soo funny, and he decided not to go!!!

I'm such a meanie!!

mine is in november too - and i'm planning on going.
i was very unhappy when i was in high school - uncomfortable with myself and being around other people - typical, i know. but since i've graduated high school, and college, and graduate school - i feel so much better about myself...and i want to be able to see all of the people i havent' seen in years....kind of to show them how i've changed. i like myself a lot more now!!!

I didnt go to mine. I had a wedding to go to.
Hubby didnt go to his either because we were getting married the week later, and he hangs out with most of his friends from HS

DH missed his - so I took him to mine...he is a pretty friendly guy, so he ate his $95 worth of food...not too many people brought dates though...

We met up with about 6 people first at a bar...to make it easier for all of us...

my bf/bm and I talked about it all the time, but afterwards we said...we were glad that we went to see it and realize that we didn't miss anything...but we will probably never go to another one...

I have to agree with others...most of the people didn't change at all...

there was a baldy...and a fatty...but that was it...

my dad said at his 50th it was depressing since everyone was either bald, fat or dead...

I took my BF at the time to my 10-year reunion 3 years ago (BF is now DH!!). It was okay. We basically chatted with all the people we were friendly with back then and still keep in touch with now, so it was like a big get together in the school cafeteria.

Re: 10 year high school reunion!!!

Funny story about mine..i went to most of high school years in Oklahoma..at the end of the senior year we had to put names in a 'time capsule'..names where we could be reached in say ten years..everyone just gave their parents addresses...this was given to teh Class President to keep and to hold onto...so anyhow..after high school..I took myself to Seattle and then moved here to jersey..when it came time for them to plan the ten year reunion..it tiurns out our wonderful class presidnt lost the addresses and was in PRISON for embezzlement!! One of my girlfreinds said that it wsa on the local stations..that if you knew anyone who gradutade in '89 to contact them..but there werent enough people..most had moved away!! So now that teh internet is more popular and there is classmates .com..they are working on a reunion to be I think next May. Its crazy!! Ill definately go, and would most definately bring my fiance..he'll be my husband by then. He gets a kick out of going to Oklahoma anyhow..he finds it very humorous!!

I am not friends with ANYONE from HS anymore lol....if I did go, I would bring Tom with me but I would just want to spy and see who is married, preggo, fat, bald etc lol. I wouldn't want to talk to anyone. There is no one I would even want to stay in touch with!

Re: 10 year high school reunion!!!

I went to mine (quite a few years ago) and although I kind of dreaded it at first..I didn't love hs and I don't keep in touch with too many people my year...my close friend convinced me to go. I had a blast..not many people recognized me and it freaked them out when I told them who I was...I had so much fun with that.

I did not bring DH (well - he was b-friend at that time). But hardly anyone brought a significant other.....It wasn't a very formal event (more of a drink fest in hs cafeteria) so it wasn't really appropriate to bring DH, FI or boyfriend for my school....

I have my college 10 year next year - that should be fun. I will probably bring DH to that since most of my friends will....it is more of a formal dinner/dancing things so it will make more sense....

Re: 10 year high school reunion!!!

I went to DH, mine was pretty bad because it was the first week in October 2001 & a lot of people wee afraid to fly back into NY. Originally there were 250+ responses, but only 30 people came.

FH's was pretty bad though, a lot of people in his class did not get along, so not too many people showed. But me & FH still look like we did in HS (we went to the same HS), so it was really *rewarding* to strut around all the snobby people who now look like sh*t

Alicia, that is hysterical! What an icebreaker for the reunion, huh?
