so i was talking to WCC about renting the lounge furniture for the CH (pics in the 'my wedding' album if you're interested) ... they told me it's $1000 for 8 sofas, 2 coffee tables, and some palm trees and whatnot. This is for one hour only! are they insane!??!? i could buy (not rent!) 4 sofas at ikea for that price lol!!!
so i asked if they could give me half as many items (4 sofas instead of 8, 1 table instead of 2, etc) for half the price and they said no
it's really sad because the lounge-feel was one of our fave things about WCC
does anyone know of a good furniture rental company that could do something more affordable?

Is there just nothing outside if those couches aren't there? I'm a little confused (I've never been there). Or do they set up little tables to stand and munch on apps at?
I don't love sitting on couches when I'm all dressed to the till anyway since it's always a little awkward trying to stand up without either flashing people (if in a cocktail dress) of totally wrinkling the dress (if in a gown). I prefer being able to perch during CH.
Definitely not worth $1k for 1 hour of having people out there, but I would find out what your free options are.

At the Swan Club bridal show last week I spoke with a DJ company there that rented lounge furniture for what I thought was a great price, which ofcourse I cant remember right now (the price). The company was DJ mix, they do lighting as well. You should contact them, ask for Jack . I dont have their number on me, but if you can't find it let me know. Goodluck!

They already have the furniture there ... the $1000 is just for them to pull it out ... it's insane and i'll obviously not be paying that.
if i don't pay, they'll still set up tables and chairs ... FH and I just fell in love with the lounge feel of the sofas. but it's not a love that is worth $1000 per hour LOL

This sounds like a weird referral BUT....
my photographer (located in Bellmore) shares space with a DJ that does lounge furniture rental on the side....he's legit (been to his office and saw the lounge chairs) but I don't know the name of the company....here is the DJ's number: 516.826.6900. I'd call and ask them....

They'll let me use an outside vendor even though they didn't sound thrilled about it ... but if you give me a ridiculous quote, i'm not going to sit there like an idiot and accept it!

Eek that is a lot! If it were for the whole reception, that's one thing but for an HOUR?
There was a venue that we looked at that would've required some lounge-y type furniture. We were planning to actually buy it from Ikea like you said. For some reason, it's ridiculously expensive to rent!
