I was talking with my mom who has been trying to convince to do a week day wedding (thursday) So I can go all out for the packages I want and get a good price. I keep telling her Sunday, I want an October Sunday. So she called me all excited '10/11/12, why don't you get married on 10/11/12, it's a thursday!'
No mom its a Tuesday and I can;t get married on a Tuesday! My BP would prob kill me!
10/11/12 is kinda a cool date tho

Yea. When you add tax and gratuity.. that's the Friday quote.
Besides.... when I go to the florist, photographer, and dj... they usually just don't bother trying to haggle. I haven't looked around much.. but they just say a low enough price to try to get me to just book them... then they don't tell me 'oh.. but the date might book!' b/c really... it's a Thursday in 2 years....

i almost did a thursday wedding...but the hall pricing was not that much different, I think we were only saving like 1k or 1500 by doing a thurs? FH didn't think it was worth it
PROS though, are that you can haggle with vendors and not worry too much about them getting booked
you have no idea how many times i heard from vendors that if i wasn't a friday holiday weekend they could bend more on price and throw things in
when a vendor books a thursday its like extra money bc they rarely book them
I would consider it if i were you, throw it out there when you see halls
also I feel like halls came down on friday prices too once they saw we were really budget conscious and thinking of a thursday

That's true... I'm saving about 5k by switching to a Thursday because my wedding minimum is 175. Depends on the size and what the RH is offering.

we were gonna do a thursday wedding cause its so much for affordable! The only problem is where we both work our guests dont really get out til 6 or later and would be a hard drive in traffic so it didnt work out for us. If it did we'd still be getting married on the Thursday. You can afford so much more and have the wedding you truley want

ITA. That's why it's in the summer. It's the middle of July and a lot of people will have vacation around then. It's mostly family and our friends are either local or in school and there are very few classes on Friday.

I have been swaying back and forth on this thursday thing so much! Fmil doesn't like the idea and it would be hard for my bp unless I do it in the summer and now I like that date lol for me the hardest part of this whole planning process is the date!
