Hello, I just got engaged 2 days ago Anyone know if it is cheaper to get married on Sunday 10/7?? It is a day before columbus day and I figured it would be but havn't checked into it yet. Thanks:))

I don't know from personal experience but I'm pretty sure I have seen people say holiday Sundays are priced like Saturdays. Another thing to consider if you are having a lot of OOT guest, traveling on holiday weekends can be a nightmare.

Congrats - i would imagine that a sunday would be cheaper but i'm not too sure on a holiday weekend sry - good luck w/ the search and keep us updated!

Gosh, well congrats on getting engaged, how exciting that yo'ure already picking a date!
I don't know the pricing aroudn holiday weekends but I bet someone will have the answer.

FHand I priced out many places for holiday weekends- Labor Day weekend, Columbus Day weekend and Memorial Day weekend thinking we would do the Sunday- unfortunately, its not much cheaper. :( It's not a regular Sunday price and most places it was only $10/head cheaper than a Saturday and still more than a Friday. Did you have any places in mind? I still have pricing from the places we checked out!

I didn't look at any places yet. I have my favorites but they maybe out of my price range. I want to price Chateau and Westbury Manor. Westbury Manor is my 1st choice but I don't think I can afford it:( What places have you looked at?

If price is an issue with you I would suggest looking at a Friday night. I always thought that I would have a Saturday night but when I saw the difference in price between Saturday night and Friday night I decided that Friday night it is.
I am getting married at the reception hall so it is not starting until 6:30pm. So people can go to work and may just have to leave a little early. I do not have a large number of OOT guests so that made my decision easier.
If there is a place you love go there and see you may be surprised. I was very surprised with the prices at Crest Hollow. I never thought that I would be able to have it in our budget but it is!

Crest Hollow is beautiful! Congrats on getting it. I will def have to look into Friday nights as much as I would like a Sat the reality is I don't want to overspend. Thanks for the tips:)

I would definitely recommend going to Crest Hollow to look there. I did not get pricing in October but I know the April pricing and was very happy with it! The only thing you have to remember about Crest Hollow is that there can be more than one wedding at a time there. That was not an issue for me but I know alot of people want to be the only bride at the place when they get married.

Congrats on the engagement and the place that I am getting married at Verdis sunday is not much cheaper. I recommend Verdis the food is amazing and it is reasonablly priced.

congrats!! and welcome! I heard that Sunday before a Monday holiday is treated like a Saturday night... depending on the place of course. Have you considered Friday?

Ditto to what has been said..i priced out sundays w/ monday holidays, as well, and was told it was saturday pricing since the day would be just as in demand as a sat! Def dont rule places out - many places that we thought would be more were well within our budget Good luck and congrats!!

We were looking into that date and unfortunately it's priced as a Sat night and also in a peak wedding month! I agree with Mara and see if you can book on a Friday night. If not, would you consider changing the date to a non-peak month? That is what we did and we got a good deal for a Sat night.

Thanks for all the wishes:) I always wanted a October wedding. I never looked into anything for weddings so I am sooo new to all of this. I do have friends who got married and can help but too many opinions will make me crazy. I would like to do the bulk of things on my own with the help of ths site. So do any of you girls know what are not considered the peak months?

Pricing comes down in oct in some places but non peak is usually jan-april

crashing!! im getting married colombus day weekend and the RH didn't even realize that it was that weekend when i booked! It's not a big holiday so pricing shouldn't be that different from a regular suunday

Im getting married the Sun of Memorial Day weekend..its priced like a Saturday but we got a discount on it since it is a Sunday..with a Sun. minimum
it worked out for us. but idk how big colombus day is, so maybe they will charge it like a reg sunday which would be awesome for you! not sure, sorry!
