10/8 Strike GTG Questions.....

Original post by hbradio

How much is this going to cost?

Are we eating there?

Drinking there?

Is someone going to make reservations?

Is everyone actually bowling?

I dont know if I want to bowl, I might just have to sit there and run my mouth all night!

Thanks Jenn!
I wish they had a package without bowling. I really dont want to do that but I dont mind watching...

Maybe we should just go there without reservations or whatever and just drink, eat and play what we want.

What do you girls think?

Uhhhh that sounds good to me! Not to be a party pooper or anything ladies but I am a little light in the pocket these days!

I dont want to sound like a party pooper either but Strike isnt exactly a 'sit down and chat all night about wedding stuff' place.

It is loud, full of people and ahem... is known to be a 'Meet/Meat' Market.

DO we want to change the venue then - maybe Ruby Tuesdays in Farmingdale???

Can we change the location to a restaurant nearby? Not that we have to, but it sounds like almost everyone is strapped for cash and the whole reason for us to GTG is to chat. I would suggest a place, but I don't know the area.

If (and I did say IF) we decide to go elsewhere, I think the Westbury area is great. Maybe Olive Garden? Affordable... close and when you are there you are family, kind of like the 05 board. (Ok I am a big time sap)

If we do decide venues I think we should keep it closer to the queens/LI border. Unless no one has a problem with moving it into nassau. If we are so strapped for cash, why dont we make it even easier and have it a coffee house? Just a suggestion, but it would be a lot cheaper than dinner and drinks.

You've all made some pretty good points. Strike will most likely be loud and it would be difficult for us all to talk. The Olive Garden in Westbury sounds good or Tin Alley Grill on Stewart Ave (across from Roosevelt Field) is on the quieter side and reasonable prices. I like Tin Alley Grill better for those of us with the budget concerns.
