Hey all this is a repost from the 2010 board. Yesterday I went to the church FH and booked and they renovated and I hate it! So I am looking for another church. I called a TON today I was hoping maybe you all would have some input for me.
Here's my original post
OK so many of you know I am searching for anew church I made a bunch of calls today and all of you were right, me being Lutheran is not a problem at all! My and my FI not being parishoner's at many churches is...
Here are 3 I found that stand out to me the most any feed back would be appreciated! Oh and not being a parishoner at these is cool. I am leaning towards a more cathedral style church bc that's what I had and loved at the Lutheran one.
So I called St.Patrick's in Glen Cove waiting to hear back from them...
I have a meeting on Saturday with St. Catherine of Siena in Franklin Square. Not many pics of it but Priest was very cool on the phone. Seems big and pretty...
finally
I called St.Agnes Cathedral in RVC and they said that I have to call 1 year before the date, so late August, bc they hold a year for their parishoners after that non parishinors can get married there. That place looks AMAZING!
So do I wait a month and take a chance or not?
Also any feed back on these churches?
THANKS!

Re: '10er crashing... I need church help
St. Pats is GORGEOUS...although I don't know how you feel about a life sized, gold jesus on the cross. I'm probably just oversensitive to it because I'm Jewish but I thought it was a little much. Then again I was there a couple years ago so it might be gone now. Or maybe they take it down for weddings?
Otherwise its really bright in there, tons of natural light and its really pretty

I would wait till the end of August and in the meantime see if St. Pat's in Glen Cove is available. I briefly lived in Glen Cove and that was my chuch, it's beautiful and they are very nice there. If that doesn't work out then try St. Rocco's in Glen Cove as well, I went there a few times before I started going to St. Pat's and it's also very nice. GL!
