'10er crashing: Westbury Manor ladies! *UPDATE*

So I figured I'd start off answering specific questions, and then give a general review for anyone interested!

-As for the passed food at the CH, they seemed to have maybe 2-3 different trays going around at once. I really have not been to many weddings at all, so I don't know what the norm is, but I was offered a passed h'ourderve (cannot spell that) about 3X during the duration of the CH.

-There was not a wait for valet at the end at all. The time from when we stepped out of the WM until the time when the car was brought to us was about 3 minutes.

-I'm not 100% sure where they took their pictures, because I didn't really see them going anywhere. However, they did zap shots and it appeared that they took some of their pics in front of a (I think white) fireplace. Not sure where that is though.

-I don't really eat cake, so for me to say how the cake was is hard. It certainly didn't taste bad, but I wouldn't say 'oh! delicious!' because I don't really like cake + it was strawberry & banana filling and I don't like strawberrys soooo lol. But everyone seemed to be eating it.

-FH's drink was def strong (jack & coke.) My malibu bay breezes were just right. I had about 5 + 2 champanges throughout the day, and I had a buzz for a couple of hours, but was completely sober when I left to drive home.

-No one was doing shots except for one time a bunch of the guys did one w/ the groom. I think that's pretty standard--most RHs only do shots if it's a special one for the bride and/or groom or something.

-The MC for Tommy's Tunes was Tommy. The introductions and announcements of various ceremonies were flawless. He was dancing with the crowd sometimes, and sometimes not. He wasn't in anyone's face at all. They played a decent blend of music. I'd say about 60%-65% of the crowd was dancing for a large part of the event. That number def went up in the last hour or so.

Now for a general review...

The staff @ WM was excellent. They really executed everything perfectly. They got everyone to and from the various rooms in order and in one piece. The wedding ended at 6:00PM, and at about 5:55PM I was out in the hallways going to the restrooms, and there were massive crowds in the halls. I was wondering what was going to happen when the wedding I was at let out, but by that time everyone had been shuffled to the appropriate place.

We arrived about 15 minutes early, and we were put in the CH room where they were serving coffee. I didn't actually see where the coffee was, but I wasn't exactly seeking it out either.

During the ceremony, one of the bridesmaids passed out. I heard WM staff on their walkie talkies, and someone was in the reception room with a glass of water within 30 seconds. I wish I knew the name of the Reverend because he was really great. He kept everyone calm during the episode. As for the rest of the ceremony, he seemed to know the couple really well. The ceremony was beautiful, and I was getting all nervous and choked up and I've only met the couple twice! (FH's coworker) The only minor 'issue' during the ceremony was that there was some noise coming in from the hallway and some coming in from outside...it only lasted for like 1-2 minutes each, and it wasn't a problem or anything, just something I thought I should note.

The CH food was delicious...there were mussels, egglant rolatini, tacos, tortellini, etc. There were no complaints about the taste of anything. I just felt a little cramped in general...I think they had maybe just under 200 people. I felt more cramped in the main room though..there were 12 people at a table, and FH & I were almost in eachother's laps. I THINK we were in the big room..I'm not sure what it's called. I think maybe if the tables were moved over a little bit, there would have been more room to do more tables or something, not really sure? Maybe something to look into if you're having a larger wedding?

Anyway, the food and service were impeccable through the rest of the night. Neither FH nor myself really like salad, but we loved the mozzarella & proscuitto. There were 7 entree choices (I think.) FH got the salmon & shrimp, and said it was the best salmon he ever had. I got the sea bass, and it was delicious. I've never had sea bass before, and it was an enjoyable first experience! Everyone at our table enjoyed their food as well..some got duck, some got filet mignon.

The dessert time was FANTASTIC. They brought out these ice cream things..vanilla ice cream with a chocolate core..and the ice cream was covered in a white chocolate shell and drizzled w/ raspberry sauce.. Sooo amazing and delicious. Then they brought out trays of italian cookies, pastries, fruit, and a couple of pieces of chocolate covered fruit. Again, very delicious. The pastry were absolutely fresh and absolutely yummy. Like I said above, I don't really eat cake, but it seemed like everyone was enjoying it.

The service was great throughout..napkins were constantly being refolded, waters were poured, everything was executed in a timely fashion. At 6:01 (wedding ended at 6:00), they began setting up for the next wedding. So they were really on their game. The bride was gorgeous and the groom was so happy. WM really did a wonderful job. It was a great 'first wedding together as an engaged couple' experience for FH & I!
