So as you may know.. they told me to wait on ordering my FGs dress cause she may grow. Fine.. we went in early september and tehn they told me they had to rush it ok we payed the rush fee.. fine. I had to do this in the city .. but my FG lives out by like the last exit of the LIE... The dress didnt come in til friday 10/24. It's an 8... she's 4..but she wears a 5/6 or 6/7 sometimes.. but it is very long. It has a sheer over lay with embroidary..which would be find if the seamstress was doing it ..but i know ive brought dresses like that to the dry cleaner and they cant work with that!!! so now i am in desperate need of a seamstress near riverhead or southhold to do these alterations if it turns out the dry cleaner there can't do it!!! we may have a possible neighbor out there who can do it.. but she hasn't seen the dress yet .. my matron of honor who is the FGs mom is picking the dress up today!! any suggestions ladies??? she can't travel too far cause she gets out of work at 4:30 and on the weekend the kids will be away with their dad... TIA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

that is where my MOH got her dress.. but it's a bit of a drive for her after work.. she has to go back to pick up her dress there nov. 5th i think..2 days before the wedding... so i think she was hoping for someplace closer. Or even a private seamstress... they may have to be a last resort.. but with everyone's schedule.. it's getting harder!!! ughh!!

thnx .. i think it might be though i'm just so mad at myself for listening to those ladies... i wanted to order the dress like august.. and they said no no no.. well guess what it's october and the dress is still too big.. so they could have ordered a bigger size to begin with.. arggg!!!! always something..lol

well her neighbor wasnt able to do the alteration cause her son is sick.. but she agreed that it's detailed work ... so i'm praying that the length isnt too bad and the woman at her dry cleaner can do something tom. If not i don't know what else to do.. she doesnt have much time after work to travel..!!! I wish she lived closer cause there are tons of places by me!! sooo frustrating she tried it on and she said the top needs to be taken in just a little... but the length is a bit long that she might trip on it... i'm just praying now!!!!!!! It's kind of out of my hands at this point.. !!

it sounds similar to my fg's dresses. They were satin with an organza or chiffon overlay with embroidery at the bottom. The altered the dress but picking it up from the waist (if that makes any sense) to save the embroidery on the bottom. HTH

Shoreham Bridal and Tuxedo on 25A. They take dresses that weren't purchased there and they have a quick turnaround especially if you explain it to them. I have had many Bridesmaid dresses altered there and they do a good job.
I would also say Fantasia but I know my BM's took their dresses there to be altered and they had to give them at least a month.
And, I know you said your BM is picking her dress from there two days before -- I am picking up my wedding gown on Friday (the day before). Not cause the work was done late but they prefer you don't take the dress too early!!!

yup!! that's it!!! that's what i told her mom would have to be done most likely..we just weren't sure if the dry cleaner (who has done many many alterations for them) would do it. I know they couldn't hem my moms dress cause of the beading..but it also didnt have a waist line... she went over there tonight but she didnt have a chance to call me probably cause there's a lot going on.. so i'm hoping i hear good news tom. that they were able to do it

thank you.. i will mention that to her and see if it's possible just in case. She was in a bridal party before where the dress was ordered from fantasia.. so she knew it might take them longer... but it may be worth a shot if all else fails. She's just dealing with a lot right now and both of her kids are in the wedding.. so she's taking care of everything for all 3 of them..!!
i felt the same way about my wedding dress. RK wanted me to pick it up tom. i was like no way..lol it would have to stay upstairs by my grandma and i dont trust FH.. he'll go peek. lol...

just looked at your album..and yes.. it's the exact same dress... isn't it adorable!!! my FG loved it!! lol.. she's 4 ..but she's so into fashion. she just gets shy.. so just her going for the alterations is gonna be hard i'm sure.. she didnt want to come out and show the dresses to anyone when she tried them on..lol. But she's so cute that i don't care if she cries all the way down the aisle that day.. i just dont want her to trip on her dress TY again and btw ... i'm sure i said it before.. but your wedding looked beautful
