I was going by all of you girls with the first fittings, etc. My wedding is 11.8 and I called David's to make an appointment for a first fitting and am on hold with them. They said it may be too late??!! Oh no!

It may be too late for David's to do your alterations? Is that what they are saying? I bought my dress from DAvids but went to Angels Bridal in East Islip for my alterations and they had them all done in less then 3 weeks. I only had to go for one fitting.

Tell David's to fly a kite. I got my dress there and took it home as soon as it was in, and just went for my first fitting on Sunday. They SHOULD HAVE CALLED YOU if it was getting too late.
Take your dress and bring it to a private seamstress. If you want a recommendation, FM me.

NO WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY! My dress came in last month and I was told it is way too early to start on alterations. I am not going in until late September/October and my wedding is in November too. How could they tell you that? So many girls lose a lot of weight before the wedding, the dress wouldnt fit if they did them that early!

definately don't listen to them. if they wont/cant do it...take it elsewhere.
they should have called if it was getting 'too late' annnnd they should find time to fit you in.

try somewhere else, they are expensive and i heard bad things about them. I had my first fitting in july then 2nd one next week, we will see.

OK well it's too late for Westbury. I'm going to have it altered here in NJ. I was going to a private person, but then felt like if anything happened, let it be David's fault since i got the dress there, ya know?
I can only go on weekends if i go to LI - this works out better. I will get the dress from my mom's on LI this weekend and bring it back to NJ and all will be fine :0)
I wonder if it matters that my veil isn't ready though. Eek!

I got my Dress from David's westbury & first fitting is sept 13.
