I keep going back and forth on wether or not to add an extra hour onto our reception. It will not be for a VH, but for more dancing and 'partying'
For those of you who did add the extra hour, do you think it was worth it, or a waste??
And for those of you who didnt, did it work out fine with 4 hours, or do you wish you had more time at your wedding??
At my e-party, the dance floor was packed the entire time, and after it was over, about 1/2 of the guests came back to our home to keep the party going. I just dont want to regret whatever decision I make.
Thanks!!!

Re: 11'er crashing with a question!!
I had an extra hour for a VH, which was a big hit... BUT with that being said, my reception was supposed to go through midnight, it was even stated on the invite, and i ended up asking the DJ at around 11:35/40 to play the last song... by then everyone but our parents and OOT guests (that were driving our parents home) had left.

I added an extra hour of partying and IMHO it was totally worth it! I spent a good portion of the RH taking more pics, chatting with relatives, doing the customs...so with that extra hour on the end of the wedding I was able to unwind and party with my guests! A lot of people hung around til the end of the night and complained when it did end. I wish i could have added 2 hours lol
My advice is to do it!

Re: 11'er crashing with a question!!
I don't think its worth it. Our wedding was a Friday wedding. Our CH was 7-8 & Reception was 8-12 but you have to look at the entire day. Church was at 2. Pictures at the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens from 4-5. Pictures at the hall from 5:30-6:30.
But my hair was at 7, my make-up at 8:30. I had to be dressed & ready for pictures by 10AM. I think I slept 5 bad hours of sleep the night before. I was wide awake at 4am dealing with the only allergy attack.
Its a very long day. By time 11:30PM came around I was exhausted. I had an awesome time at my wedding because it was my wedding & I waited 10 years for DH & I to have that wedding.
Then by time all the vendors packed up that night & by time we got to our hotel it was after 1AM. I had to shower & wash my hair. I had an amazing night sleep. Had to get up early to check-out & make our flight to Hawaii.
Also remember that an extra hour at the hall is an extra hour with your band or dj, photographer, videographer, limo (if they are picking you up after) all those costs can add up.

I was a Wesbury Manor bride, and I think an extra hour is worth it, but I don't you need the VH. Before my wedding I was dying to do the VH , but didn't want to spend the extra $15 pp. On the wedding day people were so full after the CH and dinner that they could barely eat the touch of the Viennese plates and the chocolate fountain we had added on. I only ate the wedding cake and the included dessert. I could not touch anything else. Bottom line= extra time is great but the VH isn't neccesary.

Re: 11'er crashing with a question!!
I should probably mention that I am getting married at my RH, so there will be no church, or picture taking prior to that. Only pictures of me, my family and my bridal party at my house. Also, since FH and I will not be seeing eachother before the ceremony we are using our CH to take pictures together. We are also not leaving for our HM until a couple of days after the wedding, so I will not have to get up early the next morning. As of right now, my receptions ends at 12am .. if I add the hour it will be strictly for more music and fun, def. not more food!
I am thinking that since we are using our CH for pictures and not being able to greet our guests, that it might really be nice to add the hour on.

Ok, then I think it absolutely makes sense to add the extra hour. Especially if you are missing cocktail hour.

I would add an extra hour... definitely worth it. The night flies by so fast.

Re: 11'er crashing with a question!!
I got married at my RH. We did not see each other before the ceremony. And used CH for pics.
I decided to add 30 min to CH and 30 MIn to reception.
IMO totally worth it to add the time to CH. We did our pics and were still able to greet everyone during CH. People were so surprised to see us there.
The time we added onto the reception was wasted. By the time the last song was played, no one was there, everyone had left. I would have skipped this particular expense.
But we also had a Sunday wedding.

Ditto- I remember being so sad when my DJ played the last song of the night. I could have partied so much longer.
