It is totally acceptable to call - or have your fiance or his mother call if that is more comfortable since they are from his side. True, it stinks that you have to call these people that were suppose to respond a few weeks ago but since you have a vested interest in making that day as smooth as possible, you might as well check. Who knows what makes people tick?! Not worth figuring out and with all else that is on your mind, it's better to take control of what you can and simply call them and nicely tell them it is a follow up since their RSVP wasnt received. I'm sure there will be a myriad of reasons but what counts is you get your final count. I'm sure you are working on the seating and preparing for final payment so the sooner the better. Hang in there - and continue to vent here with us future brides and newlywed brides who totally understand where you are coming from!
I am going to be completely honest with you. I really think that it is

Don't they all! haha as if I'd let him handle most of it :o) Although I must say, my fiance has surprised me in a lot of ways and we have been having fun with it. I hope it all works out for you - either way, your day will be so special and beautiful-of that I'm sure.

I agree it is so irritating especially when people who you care about are inconsiderate but if he is willingly choosing to go to this other thing, what can you do? I mean, his priorities are his own choice (not that it sounds cool to me). The worst part is when something like this sort of puts you as the other person in a position to sort of be reevaluating what this person means to you if they behave as such. Try to put that on that back burner - you are way too busy with finishing plans for YOUR day which will go on with or without this person there. Please dont forget that this is you and your soon-to-be husband's day and anyone who shares it with you is making it special. Try not to focus on the one's that aren't there. Maybe takes a few moments later to go through your 'accept' RSVP's and remember all the wonderful family and friends that will be there. Don't let it eat you up because it's not worth the stress for you right now. I'm glad you are sharing it here. When you share problems, it tends to lighten the load. I hope our support helps. http://www.ligoldcoast.com/
