1/2 step forward 12 steps back!

hi ladies.

so, beside the fact that my ideas are turning out to be very difficult to see through to reality (at least at a decent price) I now have a CP problem. the ONE thing about the reception I thought I had a handle on.

we are currently looking for the candle holder to go with our CP- yesterday I found a nice and inexpensive one on Kmart.com and showed it to fh. Mind you that fh came with me to the sample cp demo I had at Signature and all of that. NOW he tells me he things we may need two candelabras b/c the table is big and it might look bare.

problem is, being that the tables fit 14, he may be right. BUT I think have two CPs ( 2 candelabras, 4 julep cups with flowers) would be too much. what do I do!?

Okay...here's the deal...you're putting way too much 'ish' on the tabel with all that...seriously, you're fogetting about the plates...glasses (at least three of them), flatware, napkins, and menus....

Don't clutter your tables like that with all that b/c you have long tables. The center is the focus, use a CP there, and then if you still want something else, put something SIMPLE at the far ends of each side....but don't put things standing next to each other, going down the center.

You have to also keep in mind that people want to talk to each other, and want to be able to put their hands on the table and move things around....

Think back at how many times you wanted to move your bread plate to the side to work on your salad, and couldn't b/c there was so much ish on the table....

Simple = Elegance...

don't clutter your tables...

Maybe you could find a bigger candelabra?
Or add some small votives and scattered petals, to fill out the table a bit? Or a table runner? I would first try to see your original idea on a table of approximately the same size. Because with the place settings and the tablecloth, it may not look as bare...
