This came across my desk yesterday and I thought you girls would appreciate it, especially after Vicky1706's post about the TV show on Oxygen last night :
$166 Million 'Bridezilla' Suit Is Dismissed New York Lawyer October 18, 2004 By Mark Fass New York Law Journal A $166 million claim filed by a disgruntled bride against the company behind the reality TV show 'Bridezilla' has been dismissed by a Bronx Supreme Court judge. Julia Swinton-Williamson initiated the action against September Films, alleging she had been tricked into participating in the program, in which, according to ads, 'nine brides become nightmares and crumble under the stress of planning their weddings.' Ms. Swinton-Williamson claimed she was told by producersand cameramen that the show would be called 'Metro Brides,' and that it would be 'responsible and dignified.' But two weeks after her October 2002 wedding, she discovered the true angle of the show. September Films'misleading statements notwithstanding, Justice Janice Bowman granted the company's motion for summary judgment. '[The] essence of the plaintiff's action is based on their depiction on camera,' she wrote, 'but nothing thedefendants said made the plaintiffs act in the manner in which they did.'

Oh my God!!!! I totally remember that bride from Antun's. Not sure if it was Antun's in Queens or Westchester?
She cried about EVERYTHING and she nearly had an accident trying to go and get the marriage license. That is the scene where her now husband said he could be spending all the wedding moneyon a new car. She also cried when some choir (kids I think) auditioned to sing at her wedding.
She gave away gifts to EVERYONE. I think she gave out gifts at her shower too.
She kept saying how she dreamed about her wedding since she was a little girl and had it all planned out for ages.
I cannot believe she sued?!?! She totally wanted the spotlight. This is the frivilous crap that makes me hate being a lawyer.

I'm just surprised she asked for so much money!! Maybe she's still paying off all those gifts she bought for everyone?!

Julia was on last night episode of bridezilla. I didnt find her annoying.. I found her to be quite a sad case. She was one of those brides who lived and breathed the wedding to the point where if she pushed anymore could have lost the reason why she was gonna have a wedding..Hubby was annoyed

Oh and Miho and Joe...she was a little sketchy. She never smiled and seemed uninterested in anything...especially Joe!! He tried to kiss her when they were taking their pics and she just like gave him a look...I understand wanting the pics to come out perfect...but for God's sake kiss your new hubby and take the 2 seconds to reapply your lipstick! IT IS YOUR WEDDING DAY!!
I am making all of these notations so as to make sure I enjoy every minute!
