mangia bevi is fun...loud though...le per pernard on ludlow is a neat place (french bistro, long community table), how about a little italy restaurant?

Besides those already mentioned...

What about a Carmines or Tony's for family style?

Puglia in litlle Itally - I went there for a bahc. party with like 20somthing people - we had two tables but it was fine.

I had mine at Cafe Espanol. The gave us a long table in the back (there was 13-15 people) and they gave us family style appetizers, a choice of like 5 entrees and dessert. All you can drink sangria and price fixed it at like $30 or 35 pp. It was a good deal. (we had called a bunch of places and many were willing to do this for goups over 15). We then hit a lounge downtown somewhere.

Whatever you do .... DO NOT ..... I REPEAT .... DO NOT GO TO MANGIA E BEVI!!!!!!!

This was the site of my nightmare bachelorette dinner & I'm still fuming over how we were treated!!!!

The long & the short of it ... for those who weren't around then ... THE MANAGER THREW A DRINK IN MY FACE!

Plenty of places in NYC to spend your money .... don't give this guy your business!

We love Tony's DiNapoli for family style .... reasonable, good atmosphere, & you don't have to wait three hours for a table! There are 2 locations ... Times Square & uptown ... in the 80's I think. I like it better than Carmine's .. & I was a HUGE Carmine's fan.

Cafe Wa is really fun. You can get a food and stay for the show. : )

I had my bachlorette party dinner at
Gonzalez y Gonzalez - they have KILLER margarettas and sangria - the food was good, reasonably priced ( from what the girls told me) and there's salsa band after 11pm. After that we hit Culture Club which was a blast!

Not a fan of Mangia e Bevi either!!

DEFINATELY go to La Mela in Little Italy. They specialize in big parties. It's SO fun! It's family style, and they just keep brining you course after course after course. It's perfect party atmosphere and the waiters are great. But watch out the waiters may make you pull the light up 'Peni$' on the ceiling and eat the 'Peni$' cake!
