18' Necklace - where does it fall?

My sister has 18' pearls for me if I want to wear them the day of the wedding (my something borrowed ) but she lives in GA and I won't see her, or the pearls, until whenever my shower is. So, can someone tell me where an 18' necklace falls?

IMO that is long for a wedding dress. But i guess it depends how low the front of your dress is. I wear 15

Re: 18' Necklace - where does it fall?

That's what I was afraid of. I wasn't planning on wearing any necklace but she offered and I think it'd be nice to wear hers. But I wanted something pretty short, I just had no idea what 18 inches is.

Does anyone have pics of it on them?

you can cut a piece of string to 18 inches and put it around your neck to see where they would fall.

That is what I was going to suggest.

Re: 18' Necklace - where does it fall?

18' will probably fall a couple of inches below your collar bone, which is a little too long IMO. DH gave me a pendant on an 18' chain that I wanted to wear on my wedding day and I ended up borrowing another chain because it was too long and didn't look right. I cut it down to either 15' or 16' and it sits exactly at my collar bone now.
