We are using Etta James-At Last, and would really like to apply our new dance skills (since I insisted on the lessons ) Any ideas, a foxtrot or a waltz? Thanks...

Re: 1ST dance ?-At Last
Well, we live in VA, so this may not help much. But we took our lesson through our local rec. center. It was 8 weeks, and we learned basic survial skills for about 8 dances. Look into it by you, most rec. centers should offer them. Or check with local colleges.

Re: oops
Im not an expert so I can say which but each song has a certain rythm that only goes with one type of dance.
Im 90% sure At Last is a foxtrot since there are very few songs that work with a waltz. Call your dance instructor - they will know.

Re: Learning to Dance in LI
Anyone know of places in LI that teach dancing? FH is horrible! I dance a lot and love it because of my dad but FH is the total opposite. He would rather stand on a pole and move from side to side than to dance! The best part is he has done it and I literally need to move him away from the pole. I need help! Any recommendations are welcomed and needed. I think I am going to give him this as a birthday present.

Hi Wanda I know that there are a bunch of Aurthur Murray Schools on the Island the phone number for the one in Huntington is 631-549-2676. I saw a dance studio in Levittown on Hemstead Turnpike across from Tricounty fleamarket. Hope this helps!!

Thanks Mrs 2b The Levittown location is closer to me so I will have to investigate on that one. I know there is something in Garden City by the Kinko's on Stewart Avenue but I don't know the name. I will have to stop in there too.
Yes! That would be so cool if you could do that! I don't know if we have actually 'mastered' the dance thing, but we still have time to practice. My email is [email protected] Hope to hear from you soon.

Highly recommend dance lessons at Fred Astaire Studio in Forrest Hills. Our instructor is great.
