I just ordered my dress and they told me that I'll get a post card in the mail for 1st fitting 2-3 months before the wedding date....

They told me 5 weeks in advance is more than enough (I think 6 - 8 though for a neurotic like myself! ![]()

i'm the day before you and my first fitting is on july 15th, figuring i'll need 3 to make sure its perfect.

6-8 weeks before the wedding sounds correct. Thats what the card I got in the mail told me in april.

Depending on the alterations (and complexity of your dress) anytime between 8 to 6 weeks is normal.
Less if you really have little to be done.
I would ask the seamstress at your bridal store.
They should tell you when to come according to your alterations.
