1st fitting question... UPDATE

Hi ladies,
I have my 1st fitting on Friday. Do you have to pay the seamstress that same day for any alterations? Or does she charge after when it's all set and done? I'm clueless.

ETA: I went for my fitting yesterday and I don't have to pay till I pick up my dress. $100 for hem $125 for french bustle. $15 cups. She's in Brooklyn, used to work for Kleinfelds.

Mine required a deposit. They usually take 25% but I didn't have that much $$ on me so I just paid each time I went.

I had to pay in full for the dress at my first fitting too. I went to Kleinfelds.

I think it depends on where you go. My place said we pay when we pick the dress up.... my mother had to pay for hers at her fitting.
