Just got a wedding magazine to look at some stuff and found a list/time line of when things should be done.
I am sitting on my bed staring at the list trying to fighting off a sever anxiety attack. Being an out of town bride is really starting to have it's drawbacks. FH really wants to be involved in the wedding process, but with him being in the military it is darn near impossible for him to get time off and I can't really keep putting things off. BLAH!

Re: 1st major freak out moment.
You sound like me. Just take a deep breathe and relax - you still have plenty of time! Being OOT makes things a lot harder. I know that I made my FH go to like 10 appointments in 2 days the one time we were down on LI and he almost killed me. I can't even imagine how hard it would be planning without my FH by my side. You are one strong woman...who has plenty of time to figure things out!! You can do it!!

don't stress .. you have plenty of time!! This board can make you freak out unnecessarily and think everything needed to be done yesterday.
My sister planned her entire wedding in just under 8 months .. and it was amazing. You still have over a year .. You are fine!

Re: 1st major freak out moment.
I understand but you'll make it!! I started planning my wedding while I was deployed for a year and it seemed near impossible. We found that there are only certain things that FH really cared about that we needed both of us to be involved in... the hall, and the photographer. He also was there for the DJ but that was an easy kill for us.
Find out what needs to be done with both of you, I'm sure he does'nt care about flowers or menu's etc, so take care of all that stuff yourself but ask for his input over the phone or by sending him emails.

Everything will be ok! You have more than a year to plan. There have been brides who have planned a wedding in 4 months. So no worries!

Please do not stress, you have over a year to plan. And about those timelines, use them as a general idea, I have seen sseveral timelines and most did not line up with each other.
The local vendors (hall, ceremony, dj, limos, flowers, etc) can be done over the next few month. Make a plan, call around, and when you will be in town plan out your appointments.
Items, like dresses, tuxes, invites, etc can be done at a more leisurly (sp?) pace from home. I don't don't if your FH has email access (deployed or not) but you can keep him in the loop but crating documents with pictures and links and letting him see and evaluate those things. This is what I am doing to keep my FMIL in the loop since they aren't close by.

THIS! We're planning from OOT too and it can be really difficult. I did a ton of research online, then narrowed down the options to like 3 vendors i liked and showed FH.. as long as he didn't have a major problem, i kept them on the list and I made one trip to LI where I went to 10 (!) appointments and ended up booking at 3 appointments and within weeks booked 2 more of those vendors by phone/email. Make the most of online resources; chances are you can see samples of their work (online photos, videos, videos of djs) and get prices even before meeting with them and then you can meet to see if you connect with them. it will all get done! dont worry too much! Good luck!
and we're always here for advice etc too!

Ladies, Your continued support means a lot to me. I wouldn't say that I am a complete control freak, but I feel very out of control and I don't like it. You are all right though. I have plenty of time to get everything done.
However, I told FH that if he can't get off for Epics. I'm going to take them by myself with our puppy Tucker and then use those pictures for save the dates. Personally I think it's a splendid idea but Tucker might steal the spotlight from me because he's too cute.
Thanks for everything ladies!
