My FMIL has been nothing but a problem. Tomorrow is our first private outting together...any advice?

I've had these moments of alone time too. Sometimes you just want to reach across that table and wrangle her, but you stop yourself knowing this is the woman who gave birth to the man you love!
As for advice - don't share details if you don't have to about the wedding - or better yet, don't tlak about it if that has been a sore subject. Maybe talk about how work is for her, family, stories about FH that you want to know, etc

Hmmm, since you didn't say what kind of outing, it's kind of a tough question to answer. However, my suggestion would be to ask her a ton of questions about herself, so she has no time to pick on you. Yes, I realize you probably don't want to hear about how she and FFIL met, but showing some interest in her, might help the situation. Keep all wedding discussions to a minimum.

At my shower she offered to buy the matching curtains for the bedding. when she never said anything my FH urged me to say something (which I didn't want to b/c she did spend alot on the bedding and I wasn't sure when would be a good time to go spend more, financially...I really wish she would have addressed me...of course she wouldn't and didn't!)
She and I are going to Fortunoff's..at least a 20min. drive!
My mom wants me to invite her for my first fitting....so, while I ask her to go to that I am also going to mention, 'By the way, we are getting married in 3 months, get a dress yet?'

Yeah, that could work! My MIL enjoyed telling me about HER wedding party and her dress from 40 years ago. Her kids never wanted to hear about it.
