1st RSVP opinion needed

What do you think about this idea? I was thinking about giving a special gift to the first person that R.S.V.P to the wedding. The first RSVP we received was from a guy. A very good friend of ours.

Maybe just automatically give him the centerpeice.
Or for the anniversary dance at my cousins wedding, they gave the couple married longest a bottle of champayne. If you do that, maybe call him up too for a bottle?
