If your friend has a problem finding a home for her cats, please let me know. I volunteer for a cat shelter and I might be able to help. I know that they are overloaded with cats now, so I would tell her to wait as long as possible and try to find them a home first, before contacting me. But I am happy to help, just let me know.
she contacted i think north shore, and since they're adults, they would put them to sleep. is that what u would do.
I am so surprised. It couldn't of been North shore animal league, they are a no-kill shelter!!! I have a dog that is a rescue and 2 cats that are rescues. I would never offer to help your friends out if I knew the shelter would be putting their cats to sleep. The shelter I volunteer for is called Cat Connection. They work alot with the hempstead shelter (which kills) and they try to save the cats that are going to be put down. Alot of the cats in the hempstead shelter get sick and once that happens they will put them to sleep. Cat connection will take the sick cats, nurse them back to health and get them adopted out. Cat Connection works out of pet stores, such as PET CO. They have foster people who will hold the cats until there is room at one of the pet stores. It is still an adoption, but the pet store gives them the space. Like I said Cat Connection has so many cats, that is why I suggested she try to find her cats a home first, before going to the shelter, but if you will like I will give you the womans information, who runs Cat Connection and your friend can call her herself. Maybe she can request that the cats go to the store that I volunteer for and I will make sure that they are OK and I can let your friend know when they get adopted. I feel really bad, I couldn't imagine having to leave my pets in a shelter. Just let me know.
