2 different hotels for OOT guests??

2 different hotels for OOT guests??

Due to the fact that our wedding is on the North Shore and our families are on 2 diff. parts of the island (and the fact that they aren't speaking), we are trying to figure it all out...we only have a few OOT guests BUT my family wants their guests closer to us and FH's parents want their guests closer to them.

We are not have a rehearsal dinner, prob. my parents will take our few guests and my family (no FH) out to dinner the night before...

So this is my thought...

I will book the rooms at each hotel and put a note (on nice paper) in the invitations advising the guest that a block of rooms were held in our name.
This way they can make their own reservation.

Has anyone done this??

I'm just putting hotel information in the envelope with instructions on reserving the group rate. My guests will be responsible for calling and making their own arrangements.

I gave my guest choices of 4 different hotels, but only blocked rooms at one. We did this because some of my guests have Marriott rewards that they wanted to redeem and also because I wanted them to have a choice on how much $$ they wanted to spend.

Ooooo
That will be alot easier too...
One piece w/ the 2 or more hotels
Cool
I can put the one near me, the other one and the Marriott on Old Country Road
You guys are so smart - That's why I have to bounce it all off you!!

I did exactly the same thing, not so much a save the date as a hotel info. I got nice paper from Michaels and printed it out in a nice font.

This is what mine said:
“Love is Patient. Love is kind.”

We know that we can be patient
if you would be so kind
as to save the date

I blocked rooms in 2 hotels also. the farifeild could only guarantee 10 rooms, so ai lso booekd rooms at teh Howard Johnson's but I think soem of my snobby freidns don't want to stay there.
I didn't list addiotnal choices, b/c they can always look up a hotel online if they don't like my siggestions. I just wanted to block some because there are a lot fo wedidgn Columbus day weekend & I didn't want them to not be able to get a room.

I am putting them both on the same card. The Fairfield also sent me cards, that I won't use. If both hotels send you cards, you could put them in the envelopes, or if you wnat to make sure your familes are at separate hotels, you could one cards in each envelope, depending on which hotel that person should stay in.

i will block the 2 places and add the 3rd as a choice
some people are coming from the UK and spending more than 2 nights, so they make their own arrangements!
